“There is nothing preventing a GUI from being fully keyboard-driven4 just like — or even better than — a TUI.” Correct. Both can and should be keyboard accessible. ckardaris.com/blog/2026/08...

Curiously missing from the Anthropic "watermark" is any trace of the work of countless writers, victims of Anthropic's bold theft of our work, without our permission or knowledge.

Happy to announce Octane – the successor to Inferno. React’s programming model, compiled. Hooks, Suspense and Actions, compiled ahead of time. No virtual DOM. No Rules of Hooks. No manually maintained dependency arrays. The compiler understands what your code. octanejs.dev
// Counter.tsrx — hooks next to output, no rules of hooks
import { useState, useEffect } from 'octane';

export function Counter(props) @{
	const [count, setCount] = useState(0);

	// A hook behind a condition is fine — slots are
	// assigned by call site, not call order.
	if (!props.paused) {
		useEffect(() => {
			console.log('count is now', count);
		}); // the compiler infers [count]
	}

	<button onClick={() => setCount(count + 1)}>{'Count: ' + count}</button>

Doodle of the bird in the quoted post described as “A tiny round Goldcrest (Regulus Regulus), with beige-grey-green plumage, black, yellow and white wings, and a bright yellow stripe on its head, bordered in black. Photo from Woodland Trust.”

This doodle has a word balloon that reads, “not on my branch.”

Watching the way the maintainers have managed the project and how they interact with the community. There's a lot of effort around cultivating and developing skills, both hard and soft. Focus on humans over code. Hard to quantify in some ways, but you feel it.

People who are against taxing the rich seem to be unaware of who the rich really are. They hear this and think that it's local business owners who have nice houses and retire early. The single most effective message we have is to lay out the numbers in front of them.

The best solutions are rarely chosen. There's always a gap between what seems like a good idea and what actually happens. Michael's key insight: it all starts with telling a different story. We must separate the person from the problem.

“Multitaskers are terrible at ignoring irrelevant information; they’re terrible at keeping information in their hard [...] they’re terrible at switching from one task to another.” This is exactly what I was taught about. The more you think you're good at multitasking, the worse you are in reality.
