I saw a TikTok post by a Trans person looking to flee the US to Canada. One of the comments struck me as so typical of the People I've met here. It simply said: "Canadians are born all over the world. It just takes a little longer for some to find their way home." That's why we love this country.

I have to disengage. I packed up my life and left the country because of him and his magat agenda. My senior thesis in college was an analysis of German political speeches in the Nazi Reich. I know enough about fascist tactics to realize how dangerous this is.

It's beyond surreal that anyone would choose this future for their country. Sadly, I was a lifelong Republican and American. Now I am neither. We left for Canada 2 years ago. The US has ceased being a nation that reflects our values. Very sad.

The Holidays are amazing but church life is so busy that I didn't have a free weekend for 6 weeks. It's awfully nice having nothing to do! (I kind of hate January, so I'm trying to lean into it and enjoy.)
