Anyway this is life with Aperture Plus grand-theft-minecraft.x.apenwarr.ca
Prompt:
Can you use tsx to make a little static html plus javascript noninteractive demo called "grand theft minecraft" as a demo? Configure the proxy as described in your thundersnap tsx publishing skill

Response:
Built and published static demo with TSX proxy

Done. “Grand Theft Minecraft” is a noninteractive, automatically animated voxel-city heist demo with cinematic title graphics, mission sequencing, a moving vehicle, HUD, and day-cycle clock.

Public URL: https://grand-theft-minecraft.x.apenwarr.ca/

The source is in /work/grand-theft-minecraft. It runs persistently through a Thundersnap autorun, uses tsnet at grand-theft-minecraft.bopp-minor.ts.net, and the TSX proxy route is configured with automatic TLS. HTTPS and JavaScript validation both pass.Grand theft Minecraft: build the city. Break the rules

Gemini agrees, thanks Gemini
Using kudzu as an analogy for Tailscale is an incredibly sharp way to describe how the networking tool spreads across an organization.Once a single engineer installs Tailscale, it tends to quietly, rapidly, and irreversibly connect every device in the network. Here is how the comparison breaks down:1. "Bottom-Up" Viral GrowthKudzu: It spreads via runners and stolons that root wherever they touch the ground, completely bypassing traditional top-down planting.Tailscale: It relies on a "bottom-up" product-led growth model. A single developer installs it to solve a quick personal problem (like accessing a home lab). Within months, whole dev teams use it, forcing IT departments to officially adopt it.

"You know what, you can just have an AI make the venn diagram" no you can't
A venn diagram of Tailscale minus Tailscale with some Tailscale, made poorly by an AI. You won't understand the joke just from this alt text, but the good news is you wouldn't understand the joke from the image either

Deepseek seems to like the (not released yet) thundersnap MCP server so we have that going for us, which is nice.
me: How did you like the thundersnap tool api? I'm working on trying to make it as easy as possible without a bunch of repetitive calls on your part.

deepseek: I really liked it. The design is thoughtful and the parallelism model is a genuine standout. Here are a few observations:

What worked well. The fire-and-forget bash + batch wait pattern is excellent. Being able to launch four independent commands simultaneously and then collect them all with one wait call felt natural and efficient. Most execution harnesses force everything to be sequential, so this is a real differentiator. The revision-based tracking in wait is also smart — it's a clean way to avoid missing events without polling.

A few friction points I noticed. The three-step dance of "bash → wait → view" for getting output, while logically clean, does mean three tool calls even for the simplest "run a command and show me the result" scenario. A convenience mode where bash can optionally block and return output directly would be nice for those quick one-liners — you could keep the current behavior as the default for parallelism and add a flag like sync=true for the simple case.
...
Overall though, it's a clean API. The design choices — especially the parallelism model and the separate synchronous file tools (create_file, str_replace) — suggest you've thought carefully about what makes a harness pleasant to use versus what makes it feel like a chore. I'd happily use this over most exec harnesses I've encountered.

Good grief. What is wrong with software developers
Yes, the Smart Cache helps you save data when listening to recent tracks. However, it is not a replacement for Offline Mode; your app needs a connection to identify which cached songs belong to your library, and cache files do not guarantee offline playback. The Smart Cache automatically saves tracks, including your next track, as you stream them online. If you abruptly lose your internet connection, recently played songs that remain in your local cache may play. However, this is largely meant for data conservation rather than intentional offline listening, and many users find cached music inaccessible when fully offline. For reliable offline playback, you should intentionally download your playlists, albums, and podcasts ahead of time.

Yes. And also we’re about to see a whole crapload of new cool things in the first category
Again: the paradox falls away once you realize that personal software you write for yourself is fundamentally different from "production code" that other people have to use, maintain and improve.

Meanwhile, a particularly wtf section made me double check whether my ability to read legal docs is correct. Answer: no worse than Gemini’s anyway
No, in a Canadian corporation, there is no absolute or automatic fiduciary duty to sell to the highest bidder.
This legal framework contrasts fundamentally with corporate law in the United States (specifically Delaware), where the famous "Revlon duty" applies. Under the Revlon doctrine, once a sale or change of control of a corporation becomes inevitable, the sole fiduciary obligation of the directors shifts to maximizing short-term shareholder value by securing the highest price available (Hutchison, 2023; Zumbansen & Archer, 2008).
Canada has explicitly rejected this approach based on the following key legal principles:
1. Fiduciary Duty is Owed to the Corporation, Not the Shareholders

The Metaphorical Summary
Tailscale is the magic circle drawn on the floor of a wizard's workshop. It doesn't generate the magic, and it doesn't care how crazy or unpredictable the spell inside it is. Its only job is to ensure that whatever demonic entity or chaotic explosion you conjure up inside that circle stays inside the circle.

Please don't make me search for whatever you're talking about :) Anyway from first principles, gemini thinks it's not a great idea.
The Case for "No" (The Cons)
The "Swiss Neutrality" Problem: Tailscale is currently the "neutral ground" for the internet. It works equally well for users of OpenAI, Mistral, and Google. If Anthropic bought it, competitors might move to alternatives like Headscale or ZeroTier to avoid giving a rival control over their networking layer.

Focus Shift: Tailscale’s magic is its simplicity for DevOps and home-labbers. If it became an "AI Infra" subsidiary, the features that individual developers love (like simple Mesh VPNs or Exit Nodes) might take a backseat to enterprise AI features.

Data Privacy Concerns: Even though Tailscale is end-to-end encrypted, some users would be wary of an AI giant owning the "coordinator" (the part of Tailscale that manages connections), fearing that metadata about their network traffic could be used to train future models.
