Although you're right that there is no "right" answer for every case, we do have general guidelines. Section 6.36 of the Publication Manual (7th ed.) says that "when properly scaled, most data can be e­ffectively presented with two decimal digits of accuracy."

When a term has more than one plural form, use your judgment to decide which spelling is appropriate to use in your work. Often this will be the one shown first in a dictionary entry. But spellings noted to be "less common" are still okay to use. Just be consistent within a paper. #copyediting #APA7

Margins in #APAStyle papers are typically set at 1 inch on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right). 👉 But, for dissertations or theses, you may need different margins (to accommodate binding). Check your institution's dissertations and theses guidelines or ask your advisor. #AcWri #APA7

spelling, capitalization, italics, abbreviations, numbers, statistical and mathematical copy, presentation of equations, and lists. Chapter 6 even has guidelines for using square brackets (which you might need when enclosing parenthetical material that is already in parentheses [like this]).
