NEXUS gratitude time! Last week was a whirlwind. Getting to see friends and make new ones, and in a personal milestone: getting to present the pitch deck for @aossiproductions.bsky.social’s 1st video game was amazing. Got told it sounds like Dragon Age without the combat mechanic so it’s perfect.

One thing I’m loving about the visual novel is its world details falling into place that makes me wish I could jump in. Mostly the bestiary lbr: magical sugar gliders and water dogs and gryphons* and kelpies that used to collaborate with humans but don’t anymore (for very valid reasons) and more.

Which staff would you choose? #IndieDev #VisualNovel

Three hand-painted staffs. The leftmost staff has a dark, reddish wood that has a hollow flame-like tip. It has winding red-purple flame from bottom to top and a pink-purple crystal in the hollow part at top. The centre staff looks almost like a plain walking stick with a bit of purple fabric tied towards the top. The right staff is also darker wood and has more twists and bends than the other two, ending with a final almost wave-like swoop at the top. It has a blue-purple crystal in the top swoop and crackles of a gradient dark blue to bright green water or lightning texture along the entire length.

As my *amazing* artist finalizes character art for the companions, I’m working to revamp the backgrounds from the demo so they can at least not detract from the shinies. Long way to go but there is beautiful art, very good words, and new life breathing into my VN 💕
