That just sounds like "turn off brain". Why is it not possble to ever implement AI in a positive way? What about open-source, open-weight, user-trained, locally-run models that don't use data centers and don't use stolen materials? Why not encourage that and ban the corporate crap?

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.

I can imagine reform with some different types and levels of pardons, sure. Executive pardons could be limited as you say, and subject to outside (legislative?) review, and some kinds of pardons by a public council or general vote (I am thinking Life or Death cases specifically).

Thanks. I think the original intention was an interesting an well-meaning idea, but it clearly hasn't played out the way the Founders intended. It may have been hard in their era to imagine that even elected *executives* would become captive to moneyed interests and organized crime.
