Vancouver, BC, Canada. Where dreams come to die. Unless you're filthy rich, you will not enjoy the experience of living here. Some older boomer generation are living well here, though not all, and they will tell you that is there is no better place. But if you ever set foot outside of Canada, you know that's big bold lie old people say to justify a 500sq/ft condo costing over a million dollars.

The reality of Vancouver is simple. If you bring cash. Your cash will be soon gone. I've seen many people come, offload all their money, and leave with a miserable look on their faces. Those who do stick it out, enjoy impossible traffic here. Unlike Toronto, which actually has roads, Vancouver is devoid of any normal road planning and the only transit system it does have, called the Sky Train, moves as slow a tired bicyclist.

Now this was a surprise. An actual clean alleyway. In Vancouver. I was so shocked I had to pinch myself to ensure I wasn't in an actually real developed country outside of Canada for a second. Well, it's the rich area of town, so maybe they started cleaning down here more, as I never recalled such perfection.

My photo editing backlog has nearly come full circle, to 1 calendar year! Sounds crazy, but I take a lot of photos when I do get a chance to go out, which is rare. So when I get to it, I take photos non-stop for a few hours. This yields a few hundred to a few thousand photos 😅

Not my usual style, but for this one, there was little colour in the photo to begin with. Adjusting this bear photo to a black & white style made it more interesting to me. Working with the EM-1 and the updated OM 75-300mm lens, it's possible to get fairly decent photos. However the camera is too old and only pushes 16MP, which in this day and age, is basically granddaddy territory. The OM lens is good, but doesn't have weather sealing, so I will be retiring this combo soon.
