The best time for a bathroom lock to fail is not when there's someone in it. Had to go for the nuclear option as the deadbolt mechanism broke.

I've declined seeing him in the past because I thought some of what he did crossed the line between humour and punching down, and it seemed deliberate rather than accidental. This seems particularly avoidable as the subject was a named individual.

5 o'clock start to get down to the other side of Newcastle in time for a dawn hike. Cool morning turning into a beautiful clear day. Plenty of time for a lunchtime poke.

Saw that a few days ago. The guy who did it calls himself a muralist. Does nobody care it's just AI slop or are they too stupid to know?

Felt my foot brush something walking round the side of the house. Looks like I gave this lad a bit of a boot in the darkness, though he seems none the worse for it. Another 1, perhaps 2 snuffling in the bushes nearby.

Productive Sunday - first outside DIY job went so well I had time to tackle another and then hit the Maze for the Ulster Aeronautical Society open day for European Heritage Open Day, all while an Asturian type stew containing wild boar chorizo was doing its thing in the slow cooker.

What exactly is it going to do? Liposuction combined with stretching the fabric of time might produce the slenderest of odds but if this is the best pitch and use-case the tech bros can come up with they could have at least tried a bit harder to make it not reek of new-age snake-oil.

Thought I'd got chewing gum and stones stuck in my running shoes, clickety clicking. Felt something sharp midfoot. Got home and found it was this lovely surgically clean piece of stainless steel.

When the Fleadh was on I dug out an old 35mm SLR which had a part-used 15yr old expired film in it (Ilford HP5 400). Crossed my fingers that it would still expose reasonably.

The Daily Mail have disappointingly won several high profile cases concerning shady practices. They continue, without any self-restraint, to go about journalism in the most reckless manner, completely without regard for the subjects involved.

As with most things in NI our politicians make the right noises about issues then block action to solve them. This, relating to Lough Neagh, is many levels of bad.

On crowds at the Fleadh, many streets were claustrophobic with large crowds watching performers outside premises completely blocking flow in both directions. This needs to be looked at and solutions found.

I'm not convinced Translink will learn anything. Not one politician has asked them why they didn't have anyone at all on Custom Service after 7pm last week. 1.7m passenger journeys and no help available for ⅓ of the timethise services were running.

Everyone saw how Belfast benefited from pedestrianisation last week. I can understand those with disabilities wondering how putting this in place permanently would affect them. Countless other small & large cities manage it . Why not ask them how they make it workable? We're not inventing the wheel.
