Well, since eating and drinking are two of my main plans in Japan (thanks, Wakako-san!), it's a good thing I'm studying! See you in four years, Japan!🤣

Also, if you're digitally coloring or painting, Adobe stuff isn't nearly the best. I use ClipStudio. It's made for artists and it doesn't fecking charge me monthly...

Been doing a fun Catober challenge based on prompts from artist Ethan Slayton & The Drawing Board in Montpelier, VT. Here's a few faves so far! (The rest, sigh, are on IG) Prompts in order: Costume Cat Warlock Cat Shadow Cat

Ink drawing of an upside down paper bag with eyeholes, three cat paws and a cat tail peeking out from below

Hand holding an ink drawing of an abstracted cat, based on the Marvel robotic character Warlock

Ink drawing of a curled up sleeping cat with eight sinuous black shadow ghosts rising up behind it.

I've never understood this. It's just laziness. There should be either a general housewife strike or a general making-fun-of-wimpy-lazy-husbands campaign (hosted by The Immortal Dragon, of course)

Watching anime is a bit like driving an EV. It's great, and then you wonder about the manufacturing process... When i see something amazing (like Witch Hat Atilier) I wonder "who literally died to make this lovely thing?"

Rashomon was my first exposure to Japanese cinema (though still not certain how...) I still remember the moment in the film (yes! A single moment) where I realized Kurosawa was a genius. I was hooked and it turned me from a movie lover into a cinephile.

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...

A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is.

Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.

Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.

an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol
