I've been in that position, so I try not to ignore homeless people. When I was in Little Rock in 2013, they had "donation boxes" which sent money to a Christian ministry for the homeless. It was against the law to give money directly. I was all about testing that law, but I wasn't arrested.

Mother Teresa was a moral monster. Her charity took funds from just about every dictator in the world; the people she supposedly helped she would allow no pain medication because they should suffer "like Jesus suffered." When she had cancer though, off to the finest medical care in the world.

I spent eleven years as a homeless veteran. I can attest to that. On top of that, people simply think homeless people are mentally ill (including veterans) because then they don't have to think about them.

With the continuing destruction of Saudi oil facilities and infrastructure, it won't come down. After the Arab oil embargo was over (which involved no destruction of infrastructure) it didn't come down either. That is how capitalism works. "They'll pay more? Good!"

I would argue our country does tolerate bullies and punks in power, since the second maladministration got the most votes of any Republican in history, and too many other people couldn't be bothered to vote at all for other reasons (fascism wasn't a deal-breaker for them.)

The real issue with the Protestant position on abortion is that theology is younger than the Happy Meal. Evangelicals favoured Roe when it was decided. Jerry Falwell even preached a sermon on it. It was smuggled in as a stalking horse over the loss of tax exemption for their segregated schools.
