Waruku... nai! :chico_like:
Still from the opening of the live-action version of "Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru / My Dress-Up Darling", showing the character Kitagawa Marin (a blonde gyaru in school uniform) against a pink background, waving and smiling to the viewer from multiple angles. Her name is written in large white letters overlaid across the image, in both Kanji and Romanised text.

Judging from the all the AS CrowdSec reports as the main hostile sources trying to attack my hosted services, I can only conclude that the biggest thread to the safety of the Internet as a whole is... Google.
Partial screenshot of my CrowdSec dashboard, showing "Top AS" as "GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM" (688 attempts - 51.3%) and "Top Targets" as "p.antsu.net" (371 attempts - 27.7%).

I think I'm going to call the firmware on that battery monitor finished. I polished the process enough, tested all the edge cases I could think of, and even added a status LED. Now I need some sort of case for it, then install and forget.

It's a monitor for the level of charge of our caravan's 12V battery. It's an ESP32-C6 Super Mini, an INA219 current/voltage sensor and a buck converter to go from 12~15V to 3.3V. It's running ESPHome, and connects to Home Assistant via Thread. I still need to figure out an enclosure for it.

Afraid I'll have my soldering loicense revoked after this one...
Three small electronic boards stacked and soldered together in close proximity. The top board is an ESP32-C6 Super Mini, the middle board is a voltage and current sensor, and the bottom board is a 3.3V buck converter. The wires connecting the boards are very short, and serve as supports to keep the boards apart. Two of these wires have even been threaded though the middle board, soldered, then re-insulated, connecting all three boards in one go.Same object from the first image, viewed from the side, where the wires are more prominent.Same object viewed from a different angle.

Also, it's easy to understand why power-limited projects usually go for NRF52 MCUs. According to my PSU, the NRF52840 pulls about 13mA at 3.3V, while the ESP32-C6 pulls close to 80mA, just to sit there twiddling its metaphorical thumbs.

TIL in #ESPHome, with boards that have IEEE 802.15.4 radios, you can join your #Thread mesh and enable the ESPHome API, meaning you get IPv6 communication with #HomeAssistant without having to bother with ZigBee, Wi-Fi or Matter at all! This suddenly makes these board so much more appealing to me!

One crucial thing I had to do was to set the PWM frequency to 100kHz using LEDC functions. At the ESP32's default of 5kHz, the LEDs made a very annoying whine when dimmed. For the final "product" I will use a pair of DRV8874 (to support more current and the full 12~14V of the battery) and a […]
