Even if ETD's development was troubled it is cool that the idea of Ember could be used in AHT. The Spyro-Crash crossover GBA game had a collectible showing Ember's original orange design. Technically her first appearance? Released before AHT (which had the orange design during earlier development).

You have unlocked the secret next evolution of the "busdrivers waving at each other" ritual.

Meme with text in all capitals saying "bus drivers when they see each other".

Below the text are the images of two people.

One waves towards the viewer.
The other points towards the viewer.

They are both very blurry because their busses are going fast!

Reminds me of the time I put a 5€ banknote in my passport to prepare for a ferry check-in. The check-in process ended up being free but I forgot to remove the money. When the guard at the Lithuania-Poland border checked my passport a day later he found the banknote and we looked at eachother like:

Character introduction sheets I made in preparation for art fight this year of my characters Aausso, Charles, and Pigeon.

A character introduction sheet labelled "Charles Pigeon", showing a cartoon dragon with dark hair and dark feathered wings, his main colour slightly resembling that of a collared dove.

The first pose shows him standing bipedally, doing a shrugging pose with his arms while looking twoards the viewer.
The second pose has the character standing quadrupedally.

On the top right is a black-and-white cartoony sketch of a collared dove, representing the characters bird-version.
On the bottom right is a black-and-white sketch of the character's upper-half body from behind, showcasing the the "collar" being similar to that of a pigeon.

A character introduction sheet without text.

The first pose on the left shows a light beige dragon hovering above the ground.
The character has many fire-coloured feathery wings and a fiery tail.
His hair is fire-coloured as well and has several halos above it, some of the halos are fire-coloured, and some are black.

The second pose on the right has the character's body being made mostly out of fire, he has no mouth in this pose and his eyes are black with fiery pupils. The shape somewhat resembles an angelic figure.

The pose in the centre bottom is drawn in white against a black background.
It shows the character sitting on the ground with a grin.
The body is more dragon-like, but still has many wings.
The halo hovering above the character slightly resembles the visualization of a black hole in space.

I would say the German word for the urge to verify wing sizes might be "Flügelgrößenkontrolldrang". The drawing to verify wing spans would then be a "Flügelspannweitenkontrollzeichnung". Google images shows some diagrams when looking that up. ..And an article about dragonfly butts for some reason?

A screenshot of a google image search for the German word "Flügelspannweitenkontrollzeichnung".

The results include images of an airplane, insect wings, a climate related diagram, and an article about dragonfly wings with the curious title "Analschleife".

For the first playthrough I went Order. The run was doomed as I did not have enough food stored, so I did the radical way just to see what would happen. For the second one that succeeded I went moderate faith, no denunciation, no faith keepers. Making sure to get enough resources early enough.

I'm working on my character's ref (he hasn't a had proper one in a decade) and when it is done I can join the cool kids club under your pinned post. Until then I realized I could put the headcanon lore into the alt text of images. And while doing so I might as well sketch the idea I had in my head.

1/3
A sketchy doodle of a cartoon dragon ("Aausso", my character) and a gargoyle ("Silt", belonging to Sweddly).

The dragon is carrying a box of technical components.
He says "Here are the missing parts. We should be even now".

A bidirectional arrow between them is labelled as "respectful distance".

Background lore 1/3:
This is based on a "clockwork technician" AU I have had in my mind for some time for my character Aausso.
This AU in turn is based a bit on my real life experiences as a computer technician apprentice from over a decade ago.
Aausso has bad luck around devices, both mechnical or electrical, causing them to regularly break.
To try and get around this he became a technician, to be able to fix the broken devices.
While he is not particularly good at actually repairing things, he can at least find usable components in broken devices thrown away by others, allowing him to trade these components.

Note:
I generally draw Aausso with feathered wings currently, but I have alt-versions of him with "bat-style" wings as well, which were actually his original design long ago.
If your world doesn't have dragons with feathered wings, then Aausso would have bat-wings instead if he were to interact with your characters.

2/3:
Another dragon appears ("Leina", belonging to Sweddly).
"What's up, guys?" she asks, putting her hands on the shoulders of both other characters.
Silt has a worried expression.
Aausso is processing the sudden invalidation of his personal space.
Some electrical sparks are appearing on the dragon's whiskers.

Background lore 2/3:
Aausso would likely be doing trades with gargoyles. Giving them usable components he finds, in exchange for proper repairs he could not do himself to broken devices.
This would explain how he would be acquainted to Silt and Leina.

Although his bad luck is clearly evident, Aausso actually considers himself to have above average luck.
His reasoning is that he once found his hat on the first try after it was dropped into a pile of identical-looking hats.

3/3
A swordfish dragon ("April", belonging to Sweddly) watches from a distance as the previous trio is experiencing an electrical shock.
"Dafuq they doin ova der?", she wonders.

Background lore 3/3:
Aausso is an electrical dragon, although the voltage his body produces generally is too low to actually be of any use.
At best it could give people surprisingly approaching him a mild static shock.
With Leina being highly conductive this mild shock might feel worse than it normally should be.

Aausso's fear of breaking things would likely keep him reluctant from actually joining April's crew, at least initially.
But his sense of "duty for those with worse luck" would at least make him want to provide support for the cause, even if it is just finding usable components for Silt and Leina to use.

3/3 If I then end up liking an idea a lot then I could decide to redraw it in a more "proper" style afterwards or at a later point. And if not then at least I spent time drawing and having fun.

A drawing doodle of two cartoony dragons.
One dragon is holding up a paper that has the previous drawings on them.

120

AntonSta @antonsta.bsky.social · 27/11/2025

2/3 This would also help me ease into drawing characters I had not drawn before. For example: I never drew Laser before, so these doodles have obvious mistakes and normally I wouldn't share them. But by drawing him in a simplified style next to my character I was able to have fun while learning.

Another doodle of two cartoony dragons.
One dragon is pointing to a flipchart which has the previous doodle on it.

130

AntonSta @antonsta.bsky.social · 27/11/2025

1/3 I used to get hung up redoing hands or details when doodling. What helped me was to try and doodle in a different style, very simplified, while also using different brush settings if digital. By disassociating it from my usual style I learnt to worry less about details and doodle more for fun.

That sounds like it might not end so well! Messing with the wrong individuals in your worlds is a quick way to become a stress relief ball. This old meme edit would be my character after going in with an "I can fix her" attitude - quickly and painfully finding out that, in fact, he couldn't:

Drew this sketch some months ago after talking with friends about the out-of-context phrase "mass produced Antons" (referring to WW2 warplanes originally). I got reminded of it after seeing the trailers for "The Alters". I guess I know what game I'll have to try next time I find free time!

A lineart sketch of multiple cartoon dragons on a conveyor belt.

The dragons look very similar, with slight differences in their design or style.

Some have thinner lineart than the others.
Some are taller than the others.

The dragons further in the back are lacking wings.
The conveyor belt leads them through a machine that gives them wings.

Most of the dragons receive feathered wings.
The dragons look surprised at the one dragon on the belt that received bat wings instead.

In the second panel the character is eyeing the speech bubble from the first panel.

In the third panel the character is chewing part of the speech bubble after having taken a bite out of it.
