That is very strange. A lot of my good information contacts are still people I met at a conference there like a decade ago.

That would be my bet. Talarico and Abbott, both by narrow margins.

Inaugural lecture: "Empire and the Gods: How the Romans Lost Control of Their Religion". Prof. Greg Woolf (Leon Levy Director, ISAW, NYU). How did the shift to autocracy coincide with a religious free-for-all in Rome? Tues Oct 13, 6:30pm, MHN 509 #AncientHistory #RomanHistory #uOttawa #ottawa
Poster for an inaugural lecture by Friends of Classics & Religious Studies in Ottawa. Maroon banner across the top with the university crest and organization name in English and French. Below it, a wide sepia-toned photograph of a Roman relief sculpture depicting a procession of robed figures and a sacrificial bull. The lower half of the poster has a dark maroon background with white and gold text reading "Inaugural lecture," the title "Empire and the Gods," subtitle "How the Romans lost control of their religion," and "Prof. Greg Woolf, Leon Levy Director and Professor of Ancient Mediterranean Studies, Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University." A paragraph describes the lecture's subject. Event details on the right: Date, Tuesday, October 13; Time, 6:30 p.m.; Location, Room MHN 509, Hamelin Hall, 70 Laurier Avenue East, Ottawa; and a note that the lecture will be given in English. Text at the bottom credits the Department of Classics and Religious Studies, University of Ottawa, as host.

I’ve been wondering about that. It comes in “steaks”? If so, have you had the similar Beyond product? (I attach a Thai curry made with that [lower].)

I imagine this is true of applications to fill in lacunose texts, but I wonder if the case of literary one w/MS traditions is less determinate? I can imagine that you could tell the software about the LD and that would affect its sense of likelihood. (but your later points here would still hold)

A fun episode on one of my favourite topics, cognitive offloading. Offloading (to our body, culture, technology, environment!) is one of the human superpowers, if you may. And now, for better or for worse, it's being taken to the extreme.

It’s publication day! It’s a pleasure to finally see this edited volume in print. A massive thank you to my co-editors and to all the collaborators to the volume. It’s a pleasure to bring together a wealth of scholars from across the world, all asking questions about the Roman Censorship.

A number of Germanophone papyrological collections joined forces for the online Papyrus Portal project (now I think under the aegis of something called Organa Papyrologica). But all links seemingly send you to this music site out of Leipzig. Anyone know anything about this?

Ah, that makes sense. (The line of research I was thinking about had to do with how denominations are represented.)

Conversely, even if you did accept the most generous possible account of mentorship, the mentors still don’t control crucial aspects of the student experience.
