In response to Hanson, Ken Jones said "You want to be optical and keep things above board, but, uh, I would hope people can kind of read between the lines on that one."

In the same Spaces call, Hanson carefully asked DSC leaders Daniel Tyrie, Ken Jones and Greg Wycliffe about whether they would disavow neo-Nazis, and conflated them with "nationalists" (their word of choice to launder their ideas with the public).

While it's difficult to parse exactly what is going on, posts from Claypool indicate that Mekhloufi was supposed to be fired, as directed by Brodie, but wasn't.
X post from Claypool: "They are lying about a situation I was present for.

Dallas merely raised her voice at a 22 year-old communication staffer who was badgering and belittling her at the end of a very difficult day because she didn’t want him to what both I and Dallas saw as a very inappropriate comment from her social media account that the 22 year old wanted to post.

(For context the dude was into insane race “blood and soil” politics and Dallas has been demanding the chief of staff fire him for a while, but Tim kept obfuscating the orders and telling Dallas she needed to be more patient and that Tim would “mentor him” or make excuses saying because he is young it’s not that bad)

Tim Thielman saw all this happening, and he never cut in to stop the staffer effectively harassing the leader and making very demeaning comparisons of her for not going along with what he wanted.

But Tim did cut in to attack me when I try to shut the conversation down seeing Dallas getting upset from being constantly nattered at by somebody who should have known not to be pushing on her at the end of an extremely difficult day, pressuring her to go with whatever he wanted or be labelled “Canadian Mitt Romney”.post from Claypool on X: "I disagree with the annexing the country part but yes Othman is a nutcase who loves racist philopshers like Julius Evola and Bronze Age Pervert.

This is why Dallas Brodie kept demanding he be fired, and eventually she had to do it herself."

Then there’s the guys whose faces we have memorized from doing this work so closely for so long, like Rob De Chazal & Jesse Rankin - two long-time neo-Nazis, & their pal Josh Bruce who helped them use the original Canadian Active Clubs to recruit for the Hammerskins.

Likewise, we found strength coach Karl Storness-Bliss in the “likes” of a post made by the sister-in-law of Exiles headliner Paul Waggener (we’d come across her weeks earlier while looking for people using a specific slogan that neo-Nazi brand Vinland Battlewear had recently adopted).

What's a CPC candidate doing in a group chat with a self-identified white nationalist and another person who promotes neo-Nazi documentaries on their livestream?
screenshot of text: Evan Balgord, Executive Director of the Canadian Anti-Hate Network, notes the full group chat member list reads like a who’s who of right-wing media personalities and far-right activists. “Some of these people are quite extreme in my opinion,” Balgord told PressProgress.

“Bethan Nodwell, for example, is a self-identified white nationalist who has denied the Holocaust,” Balgord pointed out. “Shadoe Davis, another member of the chat, promoted the neo-Nazi Holocaust denial documentary series ‘Europa: The Last Battle’, which is a spanning piece of propaganda that blames Jewish people for starting the Second World War as part of a larger plot to lead to the foundation of Israel, while Adolf Hitler’s Nazis were merely defending themselves and Europe.”

Balgord added other names on the group chat member list are “associated with the white nationalist network Diagolon.”

5/ In an email to CAHN, Jalsevac said "We do not accept promotion of homosexuality" and described LSN's coverage of homosexuality as "acts of charity.”
Alt text: A quote from Steve Jalsevac "We do not accept promotion of homosexuality because of our awareness from numerous homosexuals themselves who have often told us that such behaviour frequently leads to physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual harm, including well above average rates of suicide as a natural result of the behaviour and related lifestyles themselves, rather than from communications from persons such as ourselves who warn of its dangers as told to us by formerly practising homosexuals. Our action in this regard, including our news reporting related to the issue, are acts of charity and genuine concern to try to help others not make decisions that they will one day deeply regret."

3/ LifeSiteNews has described the Act as “resisting woke ideology” and accused public figures like Ted Cruz of “denounc(ing) Uganda’s protection of marriage and the vulnerable” for the below tweet. LSN President Steve Jalsevac described Cruz’s tweet as “sensational.”
Alt text: screenshot of a comment by Steve Jalsevac left on an article. The comment reads "The headline is not is not sensationalizing anything. What Cruz said is itself sensational and totally unexpected from him. The number of comments in response to the story confirms this. It is rare for us to receive this many comments in response to an article. Cruz has touched a big nerve among the public. This issue is suddenly exploding in the media. The public has finally awakened and is recognizing the danger to our culture from the LGBT movement. It began with the astonishing response to the Bud Light commercial and then the Target gay Pride products. We have never seen anything like this in the past. It is still ongoing and not letting up.

Companies and individuals are suddenly and finally paying a big price for caving to LGBT intimidations and threats. Even nations are increasingly being pressured and threatened, as is Uganda, to cave to western cultural imperialism. We have no right to Alt text: Screenshot of a tweet by Ted Crus. 5/ The overwhelming support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community from attendees and delegates alike no doubt made the crowded high school gymnasium a much less "safe space" for Bernier than he was anticipating, and denied him any friendly audience to spread his hate.
Dr. David Docherty - president and vice-chancellor Brandon U

When Brandon University learned that the Brandon School Division had been requested to explore a censorship committee that might remove books from schools we responded with a single word plea: Don’t. We don’t believe in banning books. Teaching, and learning, means the sharing of knowledge, not withholding it.
Allyson W. - English teacher

Students know that I see them. I can refer an athlete to a book about a sport they are passionate about. I can refer environmentalist literature to our eco warriors. And when I can point to a 2SLGBTQ+ text in our library and speak authentically about that story, I identify as an ally, and an adult invested in the care of our youth. Removing one of those texts from the library removes one of my tools for advocacy. There is a power in representation in literature. When you’re missing from that literary content, when you can’t find yourself in a character or a conflict or a theme, you become marginalized.
Tara L. - Teacher, GSA facilitator

Back in 2016, when I was approached by a group of students seeking a GSA facilitator, I wasn’t sure that I knew enough about gender and sexuality or was far enough along the path of allyship. But the students assured me that my imperfect best was good enough, and all I had to do was just try. Indeed, that is all 2SLGBTQ+ students have ever asked - that their school community just tries. To listen, to learn, and keep doing better to take care of 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff, and families, and thereby ALL students, staff, and families. Even if you have to love now and understand later, just try.

4/ Leader of the far-right PPC, Maxime Bernier was in attendance, but reportedly left early. In the words of Trustee Duncan Ross said, “He probably thought he would find allies in our communities. He was wrong.”
Laura C. - Brandon Pride and Brandon PFLAG

It is so incredibly important that young people see themselves represented in the resources, lessons and books available to them in school. This is true for all students. Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, students of all races, students of all abilities. Also, for students who may be living in a 2SLGBTQ+ family. Those kids need to see their families represented, too.

3/ Delegations work! If you vote on issues that matter to you, please consider delegating to your local school board or city council on these issues as well. The hateful far-right is not a majority, and when we take up space in the democratic process, we remind everyone of that.
Penni J. - mother of a trans child

Banning books is saying he doesn’t matter. That who he is, is wrong… Forming a committee to ban books about gender identity, so that kids who are struggling with this have no idea who to turn to is wrong. And really, I would rather have a healthy son than a dead daughter, which is a reality that parents in the LGBTQ community constantly worry about. But, what do I know?I only live it. Be better, Brandon.

2/ The show of support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community was overwhelming! A total of 31 delegates registered to speak. Of those who delegated, all but two were in support of the community and in favour of keeping the books in their place.
Frank J. — father, husband of BSD teacher

They are not just teaching them to read and write, but giving them the skills to be open-minded critical thinkers who will thrive in the real world when they walk out the doors in June. Let’s trust them to do their jobs. Schools are meant to provide an inclusive and safe environment. Taking any literature from our schools that represent even one child or group based on hate and fear is a clear violation of what it means to be a caregiver.
