Channel 4 are a disgrace. If you allow this to happen you will be next. It's a slippery slope "The Great Dyslexia Myth" "The Great Long Covid Myth" "The Great Dementia Myth" "The Great Bipolar Myth" "The Great Anxiety Myth" ...

I’ll be making an appearance in For One Night Only, streaming 29th July. The gaming industry is all about creating things for people to enjoy. Hopefully we’ve shown Roblox is a great place to do that.

Did a ~40K loop around inner London. The good? C3, C6, LTNs and amazing wide segregated lanes. The bad? Narrow canals designated as “cycleways” Paint “infrastructure” / indirect routes Komoot fails The ugly? Dual carriageways with speeding cars and tunnels Aggressive driving and close passes

Upgraded my bike with SPD pedals and Velosambas. Then rode around on an old mountain bike with no seatpost or saddle.

ITV covers the new cycle street, questioning its cost and value. My comment has come to the top, along with loads of other pro-cycling comments, as it appears their viewers don’t share their concerns.

Experimenting with new pedals. Clip-in on one side, flat on the other for normal shoes.

Started running again with Ealing half in mind. So much more fun than I remember, and turns out cycling everyday keeps you reasonably fit despite months of illness and 4+ years off running.

Here is my surgery scar following a bike crash. This crash was basically my fault (partly infrastructure to blame), as I hit the kerb. Would’ve been MUCH worse without a helmet. This is why I wear one when using bad infra.

The article makes it quite clear that helmet wearing is a personal choice, and only protects you in certain circumstances. Many of us cyclists will prefer to wear a helmet. Some ride on the road at speed, often out of necessity. It gives peace of mind. I see no problem with reviewing them.

Croydon has been played over 50 million times. Abolutely absurd number that I can't conceptualise. Thank you everyone who has enjoyed my contributions. I am so proud of the team and super excited to be able to focus my time on our big plans to make Croydon even better.

On the other hand, Ealing Council in London have come up with a full network plan, instead of just isolated stretches. This shows great ambition and understanding of what is needed to get people to replace car journeys.

For example they have (nearly) implemented an excellent cycle lane on Otley road. This works very well when there are low volumes of footfall (i.e. not during otley run), and the design follows LTN 1/20 very well. However it dumps you in a crater-filled bus lane, which ends in a big awful junction.

hmmm yes a totally reasonable amount of space that cars should have on the High Street
000
Anthony @anthonyobrien.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
*CORRECTION The plan isn't to build these. The plan is to investigate them and "potentially" deliver them! So they've not committed to anything really.

(proof that this cycle track already exists)

Anthony @anthonyobrien.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
note: they propose four but at least one of these already exists (although is in dire condition), and another is written about but not featured in the ten year plan.

Negligible reallocation of road space, but we're putting up signs to tell cyclists to go to the canal! This is peak Motonormativity. Imagine if motorists had to walk on isolated, unlit paths with blind corners and no escape routes to get to their cars. Would we be putting up signs?
110
Anthony @anthonyobrien.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
More signs of low ambition: References to "taxpayers money", speculation on if it "would be well-used" and is "genuinely deliverable". "Not feasible in some locations due to space", but plenty of space for cars. And just below it points out the safety issues with the off-road proposals!

Anthony @anthonyobrien.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
More observations: - They don’t seem to know how much cycling infrastructure there currently is, or can’t be bothered to find out (“many kilometers”). - The cover is of someone riding a cargo bike on a running track. They literally didn't have any actual safe routes to take this photo on.

...and appears to use the Borough’s size and hills as an excuse to not be ambitious about modal shift, while ignoring the congested and dense areas where there is opportunity. Also no, mention of multi-modal transport strategy anywhere.

For a cycling policy, it does contain a lot of praise for cars “Ultimately our aim is to avoid unnecessary disruption to the road network”, “for many residents and visitors to Hillingdon private cars are likely to remain the preferred form of transport”, car journeys dsecribed as "Essential"...

Anthony @anthonyobrien.bsky.social · 23/04/2026
🧵 Hillingdon Council’s cycling strategy is a total policy failure. In short, the plan is to build just two (yes TWO) relatively short cycle lanes by 2034, a bit of upgrades and some limited off-road & canal improvements (which even they admit will be unsafe for women).

LCC’s data is really detailed. I could see this being massively useful in an app (e.g. warning users about potential dangers) if they’ve made the dataset open.

Well shit. Was searching for an email and found this. Turns out, NHS West Yorkshire suddenly cut funding for my ADHD healthcare after 6+ months waiting. Now I have to start the process all over again. They only bothered to tell me via one email. Missed it at the time because I had mono.

also the staff used half of that bike cupboard for rubbish shortage despite there being a sign saying “this is not for item storage” so if someone reserved a bike space later on in the journey… they’d be met with an unpleasant surprise

Hey @lner.co.uk On the 8.10 Leeds to King’s Cross, 28th March Not a single bike strap in proper functioning condition. Azuma ride quality = bike sways and bangs. Also, please could we have a way of knowing if bike spaces are available before purchasing a non-refundable ticket?

Car culture is so engrained in peoples’ brains that they cannot even *think* of an alternative to driving when the price goes up. See this article published in lots of places about fuel prices going up. “Shift gears efficiently”, “make your car lighter”. Not one mention of cycling/walking.

So many aspects of uni and even large companies seem like they’re just designed to fuck over neurodivergent people. Personality tests for example should be outright illegal. 70% of autistic people unemployed. It’s a loss for them too, they lose out on so much talent. qt from Loyle Carner:
