here's a test animation i made aswell, i drew FRIEND's expression from the second screen over the original lineart before i remembered its lines have that boiling effect. since i wanted to redo it anyway i decided to throw the two together just to see how it'd look in action :P

i'm soso grateful to my pals for their hand in what may be my favorite art so far — their contributions and such will be linked below — and to y'all for loving it as much as we do! friend means a lot to me if you couldn't tell. we're looking forward to making more cool shit like this in the future!

The Delta Warriors' encounter with FRIEND and Hydrox has ended. Ralsei and Susie are standing normally again, no longer in their shocked stances.

…with part of how this hypothetical cutscene would be accessed: the chapter 4 egg would need to be placed beneath asgore's truck at some point before visiting the dark world. beyond that i'm not sure! but we thought it was pretty neat and i wanted to share it while it's on the mind, hehe :)

The exact same screen as before, without the two-pixel offset. I did not include the version of this screen that Minkey processed in my initial post, as it didn't seem to flow as well as I hoped, and I wanted the screen featuring Dean rcajackz' Ralsei portrait to have the spotlight it deserves.

in addition to those two i got a good bit of creative input from @slimyartist.bsky.social and @gdbongle.bsky.social — the whole thang w friend deleting the tiles and hydrox covering/painting the lock wouldn't exist as it does if my friends weren't so open to brainstorming together! we even came up…

The scene from the prior post continues. The gate has closed. Its doors bear a large crack, much like the columns they rest between, and the lock which adorns the gates in Chapter 5 is painted over with red, yellow, and blue text which reads, "KEEP OUT! THANKS." Additionally, the pink grass tiles in front of the gate have been erased, rendering it inaccessible. The screen is offset by two pixels per axis, indicating the changes were sudden and forceful.

@minkeythe51st.bsky.social provided me with pics from their lp to grab palettes and inspo from! i was originally going to make a near-carbon copy of one of the gate rooms but decided to go with something a little more grand…! they also processed the final photos to REALLY nail that "fake leak" feel

The scene from the prior post continues. FRIEND curls possessively around a profusely-blushing Hydrox, pushing them into its chest and grinning at the Delta Warriors as it brandishes its pointed tail.

The scene from the prior post continues. FRIEND's lineart is a slightly altered reminiscent of their appearance in the opening cutscene of Chapter 3, and its eyes dilate at the sight of the Delta Warriors. Hydrox's exclamation bubble is gone, and their mouth is no longer visible.

#deltarune #utdr #art #friendrox the jig is up… it's selfship again! this may be the most involved n complex art i've ever made so thank y'all for making it my most well-recieved by severalfold! it was a group effort tho, so i want to give credit where it's due while i show off the hd files!! 💖🧵

after we went our separate ways (sobbing btw.) i met back up with my main group at the food court and took some #aesthetic photos trying to guide kev to the rest of us. this was also around the time i met my annual jesus quota.
