Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

over the past few weeks several AI evaluation/cybersecurity experts have explained how what's happening is a result of human incompetence rather than "AI going rogue". I'm begging the media to show a shred of journalistic integrity and stop parroting what altman or amodei say

If they have different absorption (a thermodynamic effect), how could that *not* have any impact, even if minor? Apparently most of the effect comes from body infrared radiation reflected back at you, at 99% vs 97% reflection rates. So, mostly negligible, and actual usage (no leaks!) matters more.

Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 29/07/2026
The effect comes from different reflection vs absorption levels due to the color. The difference between the two sides is not huge, but big enough to consider if it's really cold/wet or really hot/sunny.

Yes, they work. They create an additional of insulation through entrapped air, air which isn't blown away by wind anymore. And they obviously repel water/rain, instead of your clothes getting soaked. They're not perfect, but cheap and light, and thus good for emergency situations.

According to other refereeing channels on social media, the word "the offence" here is meant to include the whole incident and different types of offences, but they did a really poor job in making that clear. Not even the provided examples show this application. (A good rule for the sport!)
100
Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 12/07/2026
Of course the updated rules apply. I think they very clearly say it has to be the same offence (foul), not a different one (simulation), even if the incident is the same.

Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 12/07/2026
Yes, e.g. if a hand play happened, a player got yellow, but it was actually a player from the other team. You can transfer this yellow now.
100
Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 12/07/2026
I've seen this line of reasoning, and it's simply not what the rulebook says. The recent change does not allow to swap the offence, which is what happened here (and also in the US game). What do we have rulebooks for if refs (and FIFA) simply take their own judgement?

Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 12/07/2026
"If the referee penalises an offence but has clearly misidentified the player who committed that offence, only the identity of the offender can be reviewed." www.theifab.com/laws/latest/... This is not what happened here. I do agree that the dive had to be punished, but by the proper regulations.

The VAR regulations for mistaken identity do not allow such a swap of yellow cards, but the ref didn't know or didn't care.
100
Andreas Steiger @anstei.net · 12/07/2026
