Research shows that one in four people would walk more if pavements were less cluttered. Related: I will never not be impressed by how Mancunians made their feelings known about unwanted pavement clutter:
A utilities cabinet on a pavement in Manchester has a bill posted to it which reads

"Fuck these stupid boxes"

I'm a massive fan of Ortlieb, and I'm fortunate to own loads of their products, but when they're asking £70 for a simple dry bag rucksack, I'm afraid Decathlon are getting my business. And my £30.

In yet another Green by-election win, the @greenparty.org.uk have gained Queen's Park in Brighton from Labour. Huge congratulations to @ibikebrighton.bsky.social, who is Queen's Park's new councillor.

Thank you cake. Our neighbours from down the way, Hattie and Lorenzo, have an escapologist of a terrier. She escaped the other day, so we tempted her over with biscuits, and repatriated her. Hattie just dropped this off to say thank you. Nom nom nom.

A wall panel with the title Engineering Flowchart.

The flowchart starts with the question: 'Does it move?'

Down the 'No' pathway, the next question is: 'Should it?'

If the answer is 'No' the flowchart leads you to the statement: No problem

If the answer is 'Yes' the flowchart leads you to an actual can of WD40 lubricant

The lonely leaf. @juliew67.bsky.social took this photograph. I like it.
A photo looking directly down onto a white painted stone window sill yesterday at Salts Mill Saltaire.
The off white white paint is unevenly painted with brush marks visible.
The uneven texture is a bit dirty and there is a coffee stain at the top.
A single small brown leaf from a nearby plant is on the sill with a shadow from it falling onto the sill

The kids are alright.
An elementary-age girl is riding her bike in the centre of the lane, with her left fist proudly and powerfully raised over her head. She is wearing a black tutu, teal helmet, and probably high heels. A stuffed penguin is in a doll seat on the back of her bike. She is plainly thrilled.

Holding people who use the same mode of transport as someone who has committed an antisocial act responsible for that individual's behaviour is a clear logical fallacy. That we don't apply this standard to car drivers, but regularly do to people who ride cycles makes this textbook #motonormativity.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear collars. When MyAmazingWife's favourite baseball cap got blown off her head into the River Kent this afternoon, Bramble The Spaniel jumped in to retrieve it. Good dog. 🐕 That's worth a couple of biscuits.

Have you heard of the equation.. X = N + 1 ..where X is the ideal number of bikes, and N is the number you currently own? Well, it applies to canoes too. I've bought another canoe. A Hou. With a nod to that famous Irn Bru ad, it's made in Attleborough, from nurdles.
