I guess I don’t know if I agree. The U.S. is basically sitting on its laurels. there are many, MANY non-violent ways to encourage Congress to act — even if Congress shouldn’t need any prodding. GOP doesn’t have to do anything as long as Dems are unorganized.

IMO, The Atlantic and other outlets are in a great position to write a shorter piece for non-customers that clearly outlines the chain reaction for these decisions to help change the tide. Since Congress can’t get their act together, maybe they can help sway public opinion.

I don’t know if I agree completely — while their votes seem to indicate so, research shows most people fall just left or right of moderate. The Dems could put more pressure on them if united, and if they could show the common person how his actions affect them directly. But I get your point.
