It’s called hyper-normalization. It’s a dissociative reaction meant to shield you as a safety mechanism, but ultimately helps whatever is attacking you. Think closing your eyes as a train comes rather than jumping out of the way. Fascism will succeed if we continue to hyper normalize its presence.
