Strange glitch is not letting me into @juliansshowings.bsky.social (which I manage on behalf of the Friends of Julian of Norwich). I wanted to share the lovely graphic the parish made to let everyone know about their services today. Everyone welcome. #julianofnorwich

Today (8 May) is Julian’s day - the day she was said to have experienced her revelations of divine love in 1373. We know very few biographical facts about her - even the name by which we know her is derived from the church in which she had her anchor hold, St Julian’s on Rouen Road, Norwich.

Yesterday I made my first ever botanical drawing. It’s the crozier of a tree Fern, based on a reference photo the class tutor sent us. I can see I have a lot to learn and improve but this time last year I hadn’t picked up a pencil to draw anything since I was 12, so this small sketch brought me joy.

Christmas is almost here! One thing I always do as a sole trader is take myself out for a “work Christmas night out”. This year I chose The Jugged Hare and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and I enjoyed every second of it. (Second plate is my partner’s).
Cheers! Raising a glass of wine at the Jugged Hare, near the Barbican. On the table: cheese and crackers and Christmas pudding.
