I’ve read and watched a bit about Chernobyl and never caught that the Soviets seeded the clouds of radioactive material heading towards Russia. They scrambled military jets to shoot silver iodide into the clouds which triggered a rain that poured all over Belarus. It was called Operation Cyclone.
