You can. Mu app from eurosky offers a 5 min window for editing after posting. Was always sufficient for typos and forgotten links in my case. Works with bluesky accounts, no transfer needed. Editing resets post metrics. eurosky.tech

Ging super.

Funny. You can have a 5 min edit timer in the mu app (from eurosky but bluesky account works as well, no transfer needed) *and* keep your appendix. 😄 eurosky.tech

In that case, sounds like mu is for you, haha! I just like to spread the word because I see *so many* people just wanting some minimum ‘edit’ convenience. (Plus I like the idea of eurosky in general.) Sorry to hear about your hands, though, that must suck.

It’s not even new functionality, really, strictly speaking. It’s just quality of life stuff that (like in my case) is already all I ever wanted. Nothing fancy, just some convenience for the social media equivalent of the above situation.

Yep, I believe so. You have about 5 mins after posting, I think. Only ever used it to fix typos or add forgotten links, which is exactly what I always wanted. No more copy, delete, new post, paste, etc. Looks and feels like edit, simple. Why all bluesky apps don’t have it I don’t know.

Depends on what app you use. There is an edit button in the free mu app from eurosky. You can use your bluesky acct, no transfer needed. I was skeptical, then tried it. It works. Feels a bit weird at first to have it finally, ngl, haha! eurosky.tech

Knowing Prussian culture rather well, that is one of the last things he might have done 😄 I get what you mean of course. It’s just beyond reason that a man who died in 1831 and is still widely read understood all this better than seemingly the superpower of the day does/has done for many decades.

At best the tactical boom may be well coordinated and become operational in level but that is somehow where it all stops (despite even publicly available training material to the contrary, with diagrams). Meanwhile Clausewitz………
120 2
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
This! And when you point to anything else it’s “that’s political” as if that’s something else entirely. As if that’s somehow the responsibility of a lesser, civilian department (maybe the president, too) somewhere else - nothing to do with the military, which is apparently only for tactical boom.

annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
Attempts to guide focus to the strategic level of warfare (using a diagram taken from a U.S. Army manual even) were equally unsuccessful. It was either an implicit assumption of automatic victory based on capacity for tactical boom or “that’s political.” Which on the latter, uh… Clausewitz…?

I have once spoken to a (modern) U.S. soldier who seemingly genuinely believed the U.S. won in Vietnam because of the “kill count” and “KDR.” Yes, even after I pointed to the famous helicopter photo and asked “you sure?” That was when I understood the scale of what the CIA was up against back then.

I think people fill with ignorance and fantasy what… humanity should fill. *Of course* it is necessary to prevent next of kin finding out unprepared, perhaps alone, with no one to help them if need be. This should really not be a difficult concept to wrap one’s head around.

Inversely, sometimes cheese slices that are basically all hole can line up in a way that something doesn’t get through. Did you see this mad footage? mu.social/profile/kate...

annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
Did you hear about the priest in Ecuador? It boggles the mind how many holes in the cheese (including timing) must have lined up there for that to happen as it did. Also a tragedy.

Anytime! And, really, our data was in the U.S. for so long and so habitually as Europeans, we don’t mind returning the favour. We do seem to care a wee bit more about privacy and big tech in our laws than the U.S., too.

If you do consider transfer, mine from bluesky was easy and quick, no issues. Everything looked exactly the same afterwards, posts, followers, likes, bookmarks, everything. Except instead of on some server with “us” and “east” in the name (you see this during transfer) my data is now in the EU.

You would of course also be welcome to European hosting and European law, if that were of interest to you. My transfer from bluesky was easy and quick, no issues. Everything looked exactly the same afterwards, posts, followers, likes, bookmarks, everything.

Np, not sure how attractive having your data hosted in the EU under EU law is to you but if it is you might also consider a transfer to eurosky or mu (for hosting). Was a completely painless process for me from bluesky. Everything looks and feels identical afterwards.

I like the FT even but this already completely fails on point of logic. What would be *in*discriminate about a very specific 10-digit fortune criterion and tiny demographic exactly? Are tax proposals for much larger demographics now also (logically) vastly more “indiscriminate” according to the FT?
160 6
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
I know it’s the FT and audience but did really no one look at “[…] Indiscriminately targeting those with 10-digit fortunes is arbitrary, misguided […]” and think just for a moment, looking around at the state of the world… “this is a bit much”? Bit of a party at Versailles vibe to that one?

Yes, I think history will feature in the inevitable (and needed) analysis. Beyond that, it’s always the holes in the cheese lining up, isn’t it. Damn. A tragedy. And as I said, my condolences to the bereaved and my best wishes for recovery for the injured. What a sad day. We think of you, Canada.
120 2
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
I don’t know anything about this area (as should be clear) or the history which might factor in (probably) but isn’t Canada big enough to do live fire in areas somewhere else, without gas wells/stuff that goes extremely explodey if ignited? That was my basic assumption when looking at a map.
010 1
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
Maybe it’s the European perspective but doing live fire in an area with hundreds of gas wells sounds more than suboptimal as a setup? I’m imagining an approval process for that here and… I don’t see that even reaching the first form-filling stage?
210 2
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
Exactly. And it’s the “until they’re *all* complete”-bit that worries me here. The more of these you are talking about the more the huge variety of reasons you allude to multiply as well. If that makes sense? That is my concern?
010 1
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
What gets me about this info is that surely the location of gas mains are very much known, a base has maps, how can this combination even occur. What ungodly series of events, lining up holes in the cheese, would it take for this to happen at all. It’s baffling?
120 2
annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
As a much more secondary point, I cannot help but wonder how on Earth a situation as described so far could happen/have been allowed to happen.

annbrigid.eurosky.social @annbrigid.eurosky.social · 18/10/2026
I fear that the long time next of kin notifications are seemingly taking is a very bad sign on top of other bad signs for whatever numbers come out in the end. My condolences to everyone affected and Canada in general.
