Has anyone ever hated innocent inchworms as much as Annie Dillard?

A long passage describing the journey of an inchworm along a blade of grass. The worm pauses when it runs out of road and searches the air as if saying, "What? No further?" Dillard ends the passage with this note: "'Why don't you just jump?' I tell it, disgusted. Put yourself out of your misery.'"

Our big citywide moving day is coming up next week. Most Boston leases are timed to expire at the end of August to coincide with the new school year, so everybody moves on September 1st. It's one gigantic housing swap. And, inevitably, there's a "Storrowing" incident like this one last week
