Only three more pages left to polish before scanning, printing, inking, lettering, fixing, cleaning, scanning, editing, and printing again, and having the final comic in my greasy paws! So basically I'm at the finishing line, right? #comic #ravencomic #korppisarjis #sarjakuva #pencilling

Went ahead and started playing Silksong. Why? I don't know. It was there. Impressions after 4.5 hours, it's more of the same. Looks nice, but I feel HK was more responsive. Maybe there's some difference btw playing with Switch or PS. #gaming #ps5 #silksong #hollowknight

Nine pages left! That's less than ten! Here's an example of a face I'm super content with. Usually I'm not happy with the faces I draw, but the inking phase will once again shuffle things, hopefully for the better. #comics #sarjakuva #ravencomic

#ravencomic update, only 13 pages (out of 48) left to polish before inking! I've been on a sidequest (will let ypu kmow if anything grows out of it), but now it's time to make this boulder roll again. #comics #sarjakuva

I had totally forgotten I hadn't finished #uzumaki! It was hidden under a pile of books, cos the image on the spine was too scary for my younger kid (he said). Made popcorn to snack on while reading. But wait, are they forming a spiral...? #junjiito #spiral

New #sketchbook! I've been draeing with #pencils so much lately, I've started to enjoy them. Go figure. I was missing the softer pencils, so got a pack of new ones. First page, a tiny cup of coffee.

So deep in the pile of side projects of side projects, I've no idea which one was the main project in the first place.

I finished Hollow Knight!! Hooray! Didn't get the "best" ending, apparently, but I don't mind. Very Souls ending at least. Next up, Metroid 4, and soon there's the remastered Witcher 3, and then who knows. Blood of the Dawnwalker seems interesting.

Feathers and more feathers. But I'm on page 26! So about the last half of the story is now ready for inking! In this panel, a tree branch is piercing Raven's wing... that's clear to see, right? #comics #sarjakuva #pencilling

On this episode of Laura's Mushroom Stories: found another litre of rufous milk caps and made a delicious quiche (incl. garlic & blue cheese). And, came across a new cool shroom, Sarcodon squamosus (männynsuomuorakas). Not worth eating, but apparently good for dyeing. #foodsky #mushroom

Scribbling feathers. Tons and tons and tons of feathers.

Some black pencil portraits, refs from Croquis Café. They're all (assumed) women, but my drawings of them give more masc vibe than I feel the refs were. Might be about the size of the lower part of the face? From the cheek bones to jaw. #figurestudy #pencildrawing #sketchbook

050

Laura Johanna @annahojarual.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

wohohoo, 1/3 of the pages are ready for inking! I mean it's only 4 pages more than the last time but still. I think I can scribble two more tonight. That's 18. Then only 30 left. And covers, haven't even thought of covers... full black? #comics #sarjakuva #ravencomic #pencilling #korppisarjis

Laura Johanna @annahojarual.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Just browsed through an old comic of mine I haven't printed, but planned to... and found at least two errors that should be fixed. Ouch. One is easy, the other would require me to re-letter stuff. Nah, I'll just leave it in. More fun this way.

010

Laura Johanna @annahojarual.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

And more #mushrooms. Found mostly rufous milk caps but also a couple of still edible porcinis and wrinkled corts. I think I'll make quiche this time, but the tiny ones (my blotchy hand for scale) I'll pickle. They might taste horrible, but my gosh are they cute!

Laura Johanna @annahojarual.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Hyllyy: Viikko käyntiin ränttäämällä. Suomen mediakenttä ilmeisesti jumitteli somessa tai kaiveli napaansa, kun Suomeen tuli täysin poikkeuksellinen sarjistunnustus. En usein halua tehdä tällaisia valituspostauksia, mutta pohja se on minunkin säkissäni. #sarjakuvat

Pohdinta: Suomalainen voitti maailman tunnetuimman ja arvostetuimman sarjispalkinnon, asiasta uutisoi kaksi paikallismediaa

En erityisemmin jaksa osallistua siihen keskusteluun, jossa surkutellaan sarjakuvan päähänpotkittua asemaa kulttuurikentällä tai yhteiskunnallisessa keskustelussa. Jotenkin tuntuu siltä, että siitä…

Went #mushroom hunting again. Found a nice mix of mild, frying pan ready species: porcinis, brittlegills, and wrinkled corts. Sauteed them in butter and oil, seasoned with soy sauce, salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder. Tasted on rye, with tzatziki and cucumber 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫/5

Drawing backgrounds to my Raven-comic, I realised I hadn't thought of the layout of a forest clearing (where the last half of the story happens) well enough, and so the trees and a road sign kept changing places. Better late than never. Here's the movement of the characters on pages 27-48.

Apple season is on!!! Our tiny Norland apple tree has made a huge amount of fruit (should've maybe pruned more away). They're already edible, but in a week super sweet. Raspberry crop was smaller than expected, but I've picked a small bowl every now and then. And this is all of the blueberries haha

Went for a nature walk at Sanginjoki, found porcinis. Didn't have a knife with me so cleaning was left for later, but at least half of them were good. Didn't have a basket either, but they (almost) fitted into a doggy poop bag. Classy.
