Applied for a Canada tourist visa and the IRCC got back to me saying I still hold a PR of Canada?! Apparently my parents had Canadian PR (yes, I spent some years growing up in Canada). They came back to India in 2002, but never formally gave up their PR. Any advice for how to handle this situation?

For your #Oscar consideration for Best Short #Documentary - "Far from Home" is now viewable on the @theacademyusa.bsky.social Awards portal. When #Afghans are being demonized in the US, this award-winning short tells the humanizing story of one woman’s fight for a safe home for her family.

Spent my birthday getting bullied on X. Just because I said journalists were an important resource for public information during COVID and we shouldn’t stand by while tech bros decimate and denigrate us. I truly wish these bots find peace in their life.

There's a very good movie I think you should watch called "Judgment at Nuremberg". It's largely concerned with how fascism grows by convincing people to collaborate right up until they reach their redlines, and then quietly replacing them once the fascists decide they're ready to cross the redlines.

Politics hasn't been this simple in a long time: do you think it's good for one man to exercise unchecked, arbitrary power or not. Those are the two available ideologies right now

When I lived outside Silicon Valley, I never understood people's dissatisfaction with it. Now that I am here, I totally get it. I know the East coast has its own share of bad people, but SV people have no empathy - and that makes them incredibly dangerous in our society.

The next time you abuse someone on the H1B and ask them to "go back to their country", please think how this adversely impacts the person you are abusing. Maybe they can't go back. Your parents were immigrants too. We are not taking away your jobs. Stop believing false narratives.
