Mary Jean Kreiser was 49 years old when she disappeared in Alberta in the fall of 1987. Nearly four decades later, there are still fundamental questions about where Mary was during her final weeks, who last saw her, and whether information that became part of the official account of her disappearance was ever independently verified. Mary was born Marie Jeanne Saint Saveur on September 12, 1938, in Wabasca, Alberta. Her father, Pierre Saint Saveur, was of Métis descent, while her mother, Adelaide Crow, was a member of the Bigstone Cree Nation.
