If you're looking at turn based to real time, @owlcatgames.bsky.social made some really good Pathfinder CRPGs. I think Rogue Trader is also be of similar feel, but I haven't played that one. They let you choose between turn based combat or real time, even letting you switch in the middle of battle.

Does the idea that cyber security experts and veterans who were in the field before LLMs existed recognize they AI agents are a threat not make them seem like a threat to you? Do the reports of people using AI agents to hack systems more easily not sound dangerous?

I've only watched people play these games and haven't played them first-hand. I think if they took the later games and released them under a different IP, they'd be even more successful. (But I also understand there's hype from mentioning an already established series.)

and use great timing to push your advantage. Seeing multi-level HP bars, adding big grind to progression, and things like that in the sequels to me was antithetical to the original AC entries. They honestly look like great games in their own right, but they don't feel like the original AC games.

Had a conversation with a friend about the Assassin's Creed series. We lamented about how the first 3ish games being different from what came in Odyssey and those after.
