Thank you! It could still do with a few improvements but it's proven very useful already

010

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

Ah yes, that changes the desired behaviour quite dramatically.

110

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

And instead of trying to solve those kinds of problems Apple is giving us weird new devices that require spending time rethinking all of the app's layout and navigation 🫠

120

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

But if you follow ten people who all reply to the same post do you show the original ten times? That gets annoying real fast. We will get to it, it's just full of weird edge cases.

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

It's on our to-do list, I just need some time to think through it all. Some people want a bookmark button, some a share button. So maybe we need customisation, but it might have to differ across platforms, also accounting for dynamic type and smaller screens, etc. Lots to consider!

110

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

When you have a chronological timeline, breaking that chronology gets messy. Either you make it easy to miss posts, posts feel out of time, or the user sees duplicated posts, which all suck.

110

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 23h

Not yet, sorry. It's one of those features that seems relatively straightforward at first but gets ridiculously complicated very quickly. What if posts in the thread are added hours apart. Do you show them at the original time or the latest time or both?

220

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

The activity also lets you easily undo an action you made by mistake, without having to scroll around to find the original post, cancel a queued post, or retry a failed post. It's super handy. That's all for now, I'm sure we'll have lots more tweaks for the Duo in the coming weeks!

The other feature is one I teased a few days ago. Moving to London meant spending a lot of time underground, which meant having no signal, which meant many interactions would time out and fail. So we fixed that with an Activity Queue (Tube Mode wasn't as catchy).

One challenge we had was how to handle the full screen timeline carousel on an asymmetrical display and I'm really happy with how this animation / interaction turned out

Indigo 1.3.5 is out now, with two very exciting new features! iPhone Duo Support We've made a bunch of tweaks to Indigo's toolbars and tab bars and overall layout to fit the Duo's sidebar approach. No doubt this will evolve over time as we get used to the new paradigm, but it's a good start.

(And yes, we're still a little miffed that we weren't able to move it to the Aniline developer account to sit alongside Indigo but oh well)

Croissant 2.5 is out now! This update is mostly about bringing it up to speed with Indigo, here's what's new - Improved Magic Mentions - Added Magic Hashtags - Added Apple Intelligence image description - Show the active account/group name as the view subtitle - Bluesky OAuth - UI Improvements

We're working on one of those features that I've wanted all year (since moving to London *specifically* 🚇) and I can't wait to show it off

0101

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

It seems fixed on my Mac which is still on Tahoe. But I'm guessing it was more of an Xcode bug in how it was packaging the icons for different platforms

010

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I don't think we changed anything on our side (I tried and failed) so I guess it was Apple's bug all along ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

110

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

On top of that, lots of bug fixes related to: - scroll position sync - media windows on Mac - email address text detection - keyboard navigation - compose view draft handling - compose view tint colours (a little bit of Croissant's theme was creeping in) - and many more that won't fit in a single p—

We could look at adding a toggle in settings, or prompting you if you hit post with no alt-text filled in, but right now it's a single tap per image which seems reasonable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

110

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

We still think that typing the description yourself is going to produce better results with more context. Which means in many cases the user would have to remove the LLM generated text before starting to type, which is both annoying and waste of the effort expended

200

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Given the energy usage of LLMs, that seems better to do on-demand

100

Aniline Applications @anilineapps.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

We forgot to mention it when we added it, but if you're on iOS 27 you can now use Apple Intelligence to generate image descriptions And while we still encourage you to write your own descriptions, we know what a big difference alt-text makes for low vision users so we wanted to make it effortless

A screenshot of Indigo’s compose view showing an image of a pastry with no description

The same screenshot after the alt-text was generated. It reads: A round pastry with a dark filling, topped with red sauce and a black berry, sits on a dark plate. The pastry has a textured, ridged surface. A portion of the filling is exposed. The plate rests on a wooden surface.

1.3.2 for mac was a little behind but it should be available now or very soon. If you're still having issues, would you try log in and when it fails, immediately use the in-app support to send logs so @vegh.ca can investigate

(This should also fix the tab bar being too high if you were on iOS 27 already)

We've also disabled the portrait rotation lock (which never played nicely with SwiftUI anyway) in anticipation of the iPhone Duo. Still some (lots) more work to be done there, but you can now use Indigo in landscape on your phone! apps.apple.com/app/apple-stor...

Indigo 1.3.2 is available now! It's got two great new features and a bunch of improvements and bug fixes Magic Hashtags let you pair hashtags across services, just like Magic Mentions Compact Link Previews are… smaller than the big link previews, I think that's self explanatory.

Someone has made a Mac/iPhone/iPad app that can log into Bluesky and the Fediverse in one app, and it combines accounts/posts from people who post to both. I'm in love. After trying it out for 15 minutes, I've gotta say, @anilineapps.bsky.social Indigo has got the juice.

Bluesky Labellers Bluesky has a system for applying labels to accounts, some of which are opt in and some of which are automatic. They can provide useful context like a person's pronouns or whether they spread misinformation. Very cool, very powerful, very supported by Indigo now.

Profile Page Editing A feature I was really annoyed we didn't have ready for launch but no one else seemed to mind, thankfully. Now you can edit your profile photos, bios and banners in Indigo. Neat.
