Yeah the "evidence" he printed up doesn't say Hawks or Atlanta. As he said later on a talk show, "It was the only NBA or NCAA men’s game going on at that time in Atlanta." He started with a conclusion and confirmation bias did the rest.

The part that bugs me in this take is the claim that the song has gotten "incessant" coverage. Obviously it hasn't! As a non-pop-liker I still see a lot of media and stuff about artists that are trending, and yet this record-breaking tune seemingly came out of the blue for most people.

Writing a personal note about the Carter Family's "Can the Circle Be Unbroken" (as one does) and I realize that I don't get why the lyrics say UNbroken. Surely the song is about the cycle of birth and death endlessly repeating, which the singer wishes would stop.

I can see why people are frustrated by it in a system that has banned others for weaksauce we-don't-consider-context-here reasons. The solution is a smarter policy that is willing to weigh more context, not "this always counts but this doesn't count" rules.

That's because music like Justin Beiber tends to appeal to people with normal-sized ears. Having oversized ears affects one's aural perception which consequently affects what music is palatable, which explains why there are special events to accomodate this condition.
