ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 04/10/2026DIGGER (2026) - ok I liked it HOWEVER I get why it's polarising now, I also understand people who think it's too on the nose but I also don't see how it couldn't be if that makes sense? Regardless 2 people walked out of our screening lmao 010

ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The new SBR episode is good but the ED is so disappointing on multiple levels 000
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 21/09/2026TRUE ROMANCE (1993) - this really does live or die on the strength of having a stacked cast and Christian Slater/Patricia Arquette looking really cute together because everything else about it is.. pretty bad. (Nearly) all the worst Tarantinoisms at play - they DO look really cute together though 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 20/09/2026CRIT. LIST: ANATOMY OF A MURDER (1959) - I was surprised how candid this is, I genuinely didn't expect them to use the word 'rape' - I enjoy the ambiguity and lambasting of the justice system but I felt so bad for Laura and don't like what the end implied for her... very cute dog though 120
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 18/09/2026ROMAN HOLIDAY (1953) - took me a while to get into this but it was worth it for the last 5 minutes alone 🤧 - why is his photographer friend a millennial from 2014 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 13/09/2026VOLVER (2006) - The last 10 minutes hit me so hard I had to put off going to bed until I stopped crying 🤧 120
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 07/09/2026DESPERADO (1995) - this has the bigger budget and bigger, sexier names but I feel like the first one was more genuine? I think there's a really good movie half way between that and this but sadly it doesn't exist - also UGH T*rant*no jumpscare go AWAY. He's a visual cold shower 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 05/09/2026STRICTLY BALLROOM (1992) - I really like the early iteration of Baz Luhrmann's style, it's nice seeing him with 10% more restraint + 90% more Australianness. the bogo pogo!!! 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 05/09/2026It's a breezy watch! It's also free on youtube with English subtitles 👀 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 05/09/2026CRIT. LIST: THE FABULOUS BARON MUNCHAUSEN (1962) - I'd be interested to see the 80s Terry Gilliam one but I doubt it's this charmingly artsy, I love the limited palette and the engraved backgrounds 220
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 01/09/2026CRIT. LIST: UMBERTO D. (1952) - not to be all Thing/Thing, Japan but I feel this would have hit harder if I hadn't already seen Ikiru - that said, I felt bad for not being more moved so I looked on lb and there are in fact reviews saying the old man in poverty should get a job, so... could be worse 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 30/08/2026NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE (2025) - I haven't seen much of NTBTS so I didn't know what to expect but I REALLY liked it, absolutely did not expect to get kind of emotional 🤧 - Obamna 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 30/08/2026THIR13EEN GHOSTS (2001) - I remember catching some of this on TV as a kid and being scared and now all I could think about was how much the editing made my eyes hurt. Korn music video ass movie 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 28/08/20269 TO 5 (1980) - So fun!!! So funny!!! Dolly!! Lily!! Jane!! - Kind of knocked the wind out of me to hear them talk about flexi-hours and job-sharing and workplace childcare and those things are still uncommon over 4 decades later, although it's gotten a little better... I guess 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 28/08/2026LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN (1945) - you know she's mentally ill because she left Vincent Price for that wet blanket - GREAT courtroom scene, I don't know if there was a better one until A Few Good Men nearly 50 years later 120
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I don't know if I'll play the remake but I'm glad Natla's back, she's so funny to me 010
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 23/08/2026I was worried they'd either mess her up or cut her out completely but she looks so good... much better than whatever Anniversary had going on 000
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 23/08/2026I watched the trailer for the new TR1 remake that dropped a couple of months ago and it actually looks really good! Also more importantly NATLA!!!! 100
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 22/08/2026DIRTY WORK (1998) - outside of the occasional funny bit (and the origin of that Norm being thrown in the dumpster gif) this was... not good. The funniest part of this movie is Chevy Chase which speaks volumes - RIP Chris Farley in his last (uncredited) role 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 22/08/2026FREDDY GOT FINGERED (2001) - a satirical dadaist masterpiece? no. the worst movie ever? no. I don't even think it's the worst movie of *2001* - everyone talks about 🎵daddy would you like some sausage🎵 but I'm partial to 🎵backwards man, the backwards man🎵 - of COURSE it ends with Real Slim Shady 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Managed to spill hot coffee all over myself just before work and wanted to crash out about it all day but didn't 🏆 130
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 16/08/2026TWISTER (1996) - is the CG dated, yes, does it matter? NO ❌ - PSH at his most Jesse Plemons probably - I would just not divorce Helen Hunt, like boo hoo she's insane and obsessive and has unresolved trauma. Skill issue 130
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 16/08/2026PARTY GIRL (1995) - the fashion and the music are so good and there's lots of fun quirky editing but Parker Posey's character tips the scale from 'quirky loser' into 'genuinely insufferable' and it really soured it for me 💔 DJ friend was fun though 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 15/08/2026THE END OF OAK STREET (2026) - you know those 'POV it's 1987 and you to the mall' AI nostalgiabait videos? Imagine one that's 140 minutes long. And has dinosaurs. And looks worse - still not the worst thing I've seen Ewan McGregor in (dedicated Fargo s3 hater) - leave Steve Winwood out of this!!! 110
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 13/08/2026DOUBLE FEATURE: SPIDERMAN RAIMI TRILOGY SPIDERMAN 2 (2004) - only saw this once around when it came out and it's good.. but I just don't have the same nostalgic fondness for it as 1 SPIDERMAN 3 (2007) - first time watching this and it's an absolute mess but I kind of love it for that exact reason 120
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 10/08/2026ALL THAT HEAVEN ALLOWS (1955) - Fuck them kids but the son in particular is actually Satan to me 120
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 10/08/2026THE YOUNG GIRLS OF ROCHEFORT (1967) - enjoyed this more than Cherbourg (stylistically and musically), even if the murder plot thrown in halfway through is uh, weird. But Gene Kelly is there!! 130
ceri @anglewormangel.bsky.social · 10/08/2026CRIT. LIST: RICHARD III (1955) - I can't lie: I mostly chose this one for cultural enrichment and didn't expect to enjoy it so much but it is really good, Laurence Olivier is clearly having a blast the whole time and the costumes serveth looks, great Sunday afternoon movie 120
