I am a fairly regular critic of this government (because I think we can all hope for better and holding high expectations for good government is part of that) but this announcement should not be underestimated – there has been a bit of fancy footwork here – not just to secure another drug that is lifesaving for so many people, but also to push back against attempts by US drug companies, backed by the US government, to try and undermine our public health system. More of this please.
