Excellent desription of Dublin tenements of the early 1900s by Sean O'Casey, quoted in V.S. Pritchett's "Dublin a portrait: (originally published in 1967 accompanied by Evelyn Hofer's lovely photographs of Dublin). I'm rereading a text only reprint from 1991.

Thought it looked familiar. Is it Morroe, west of Corgreggan Mill, coming from Dunfanaghy in Donegal. Passed it many times, can remember in the 80s when the house still had it's roof.

While collecting some items yesterday bought at auction, I was flicking through a book for sale on the artist Markey Robinson at the Oriel Gallery. A lady who was also waiting mentioned that he was her Grandfather.....what are the chances...I do like his clown paintings, somewhat menacing. 😁
