What's the point of owning clothes? They're just going to get infested with moths.

Anastasia @anesthesiacg.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Yarn coming in the mail directly after my moth ordeal is actually so hard to deal with. I hope this yarn doesn't end up mothy.

Multiple towns in central Iowa are dealing with boil advisories or "do not use" orders as water issues persist.

Still feeling slightly amped up (stressed out) about the whole moth fiasco. Like I am not able to handle any more bs for at least a couple of weeks.

It's been over 24 hours since I have seen a clothes moth larva and that's kinda beautiful.

Nothing makes me feel more bone weary than stress. Clothes moth issues have really got me valuing my health and wellbeing over objects.

Maintenance guy decided tonight at 11:30 was the time to clean the pipes to prep the radiators. Loud noises in every single room in the building.

Found more holes in that sweater and holes in a shawl. Threw out a ton of stuff. Look at this evil little moth.

After paying my credit card... note to self: We have yarn at home. We have books at home. We have food at home. We have drinks at home.

Yarn moth larva(what eats wool) can live for up to 30 months???? Anyway. Getting way more serious about repelling them.

Finished a book by a local author, but sadly cannot suggest it as it ended with the main character romance with a cop... ew.

I spent most of today throwing away and hand washing my knit sweaters as I found a yarn moth larva in my cedar chest. No huge losses. Only one hole to mend. Honestly about as best as it could have gone.

There's a new yarn store opening in Ankeny, but the only thing I know about them is that they have an AI logo.

When you put a book down for a few days and then the moment you pick it back up it gets 100 times better than before you put it down.

Mild Spoilers: Resident Evil and Station 8 had plots where off screen girlfriends are pregnant and the guys need to decide if they're ready to have a baby. Damn pregnant women are scary (women are most likely to be murdered when pregnant).

I'm surprised the Resident Evil ads didn't reflect how much of a comedy it is. I could see people having a different expectation and not being thrilled at the realization.

Applaud me for consolidating down my yarn and weaving stuff. My old apartment I had a large linen closet and about double the stuff.

Just remembered how when I was a child I suddenly stopped having gymnastics and nobody ever told me why. Years later I found out the head coach died in a plane crash so the Y just folded the program.

Going to half priced books to sell books and visit all the books I previously sold them. Also gotta be the cool person who gets way more money for my stuff than other people and doesn't immediately spend all my money.

Side curiosity of mine. Why does Biller cast almost nobody of color other than herself in her films?

000

Anastasia @anesthesiacg.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Seeing people get hyped up about Anna Biller's new film, so refreshed myself on the transphobic things I have seen her say. While not fully out saying I hate trans people she is very comfortable making the same arguments as known transphobes. Personally this is enough for me to not be a fan.

Having a friendship suddenly and somewhat mysteriously end is kinda like a death. I'm reading a new release in a series I used to talk to this person about a lot and it's so weird knowing I probably will never talk to them about it. Not particularly upsetting, but odd.

Thank you to Adam Cesare and Union Square & Co for the advanced reader copy of Video Night. While this book had some grisly and disturbing sequences it ultimately fell flat for me. The nostalgia didn’t work for me. Even though I had hundreds of movie nights this never provoked those memories in me.

This Isreal reference in this is just as bad as people were saying it is. Had a caracter who could be from anywhere from there (pianist they are honored to host) and makes no comments about colonization or genocide (these are topics that have come up in the book).
