I’ve watched this so many times now with a massive smile on my face 😀. Two new signings combine with a player whose improvement from last season is just immense. Gutted about Eddie Howe leaving. He’s given us some amazing days &, oh my, I never thought I’d see NUFC win a cup final win. What a day that was ! It’s not a total surprise but the timing is. Not ideal, but let’s hope the next manager (Jaissle?) can build a new vibrant team that we can be proud of.

Gutted to hear about KK. I met him in 1983, when I was 11 & he opened a sports shop by The Monument. He shook my hand and I didn’t wash it for a week! When he returned 10years later I started believing in my team in a way I never thought possible. He got us and we adored him for it. Rest well, hero

I won’t be shedding a tear for Anthony Gordon. He seemed to fall out of love with #nufc the moment he was hawked to L’pool and the feeling was mutual. The right sale at the right time, for me - hopefully this sensible approach is a sign of things to come.

It turns out today’s game was season changing in the worst possible way 😢. That’s the end of our season - I can’t see us recovering from the results of this week and, worse still, the awful performances. For the first time since he joined us I really worry for Eddie Howe’s position.

Today is another potential season changing moment for NUFC (how many times have we said that this season?). If we beat those lot down the road the form of the Chelsea and Liverpool give genuine hope for the last 7/8 games of the season. I hope the lads show how much they are hurting at high noon.

How do you solve a problem like Nick Woltermade? That ‘almost assist’ for Jacob Murphy was simply stunning and he is clearly an extremely talented player. But he looks out of place and lost at times. Can he fulfil his potential in the EPL and in this #nufc team? I’m not so sure but I really hope so.

#nufc have had around 30 managers in my lifetime. I’ve loved 4 of them. Kevin, Bobby, Rafa & now, Eddie. No matter the result today I’m not ready to say bye to Howe yet. He’s brought joy I didn’t think possible & despite this seasons inconsistencies there’s few I would trust more to turn it around.

When Andy Cole left #NUFC I recall the heartbreak, but the transfer fee was wisely reinvested in Ferdinand, Ginola & Barton, who almost took us to EPL title. NUFC have had all summer to prepare for this moment so I trust there’s plans in place for reinvestment in something equally transformational.
