Just finished this book that I started in January (I read about 1 or 2 people each evening) which was an eye opening summary of Black Britons who have made significant impact on the UK, yet have been less prominent in the nation's conciousness. Recommended.

Much of my time last weekend was making Big Mess Trifle. I ripped out the recipe from @theguardian.com in 2012 and have made it only about 4 times due to the faff (and peril of making real custard), but yum it is delicious! I even found the link to the recipe: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...
