Why Is Everyone In Tech So Sad? | NOEMA
A lot of people seem to be realizing that knowledge work is mostly pointless. AI might give us the pleasure of finding out what happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers.

Measuring the impact of this extremely hot summer in lost GDP rather than human costs like restless nights, runs cut short, amount of brown grass trodden on, panic inducing headlines read etc is a real bummer.

Frustrating wrinkle with @ifixit.com. Need to replace a swollen battery on my phone and found that buying the battery and adhesive is more expensive than buying the kit which includes those items plus a tool kit which I've already got from a previous order.

Bit rich to spend weeks after the Gorton and Denton byelection bashing the Greens talking points and then claiming some of them as your own. I agree with what he's saying here but it would ring more true if he'd been saying this before the attacks on Iran...

Winter is improved if you put your veg trimmings and herb stalks in a bag in the freezer and when it's full you make it into a stock for a banging minestrone. Omnivores can and should add chicken bones & parmesan rinds to the bag too. Extract value & nutrition from what seems like waste.
