Being unemployed, I ruminate a lot. 1) the games industry has taught me many skills, but they are hard to parlay into something employable outside of that industry, even as a programmer. 2) as a programmer, everyone outside the industry wants you to know AI, and the industry will not teach you it.

Regrettably, the stand your ground defense is unequally applied. Texas does allow for open carry though, with a permit. It’s not considered brandishing. (Of course, we have seen that go sideways for people who aren’t white as well.)

Honestly I’ve lived in and out of the American south long enough to know that there’s a significant contingent who has never been here and simply forgets that the people most negatively impacted by the regressive policies of the state… live here too.
