I keep thinking about this idea that all things media can be divided into cool and awesome. Awesome things have power, precision, it's competitive and seeks to achieve. While cool is slack, confident, and only aims to exist in the moment.

Went to London Ontario's Punk Rock Flea Fest and saw Bad Waitress and Sub Humans. Also caught parts of Bonnie Trash and Anti-Queens. The Flea Fest was impressive, stretching two blocks with a side street for a skate competition.

The usual conservative approach of shrink or enshitify because they can't have an honest conversation about removing popular programs.

WATCH: This morning, President Trump gave a 37-minute speech at the UN General Assembly that served up a medley of reheated leftovers and provocative threats. Watch three of his most alarming comments:

Trump's supposed deal to acquire potash from Belarus is pure tragicomic. Sask can ship potash to the states like it's takeout. But, Trump wants us to ignore the massive Rube Goldberg like shipping channel required to get Potash from the other side of the world, which is also hostile and unstable.

There is an insidious bias when it comes to the Palestine occupation. No doubt, in Bill's mind the idea that a Israeli might be may be in a situation where they feel threatened needs more attention than anything that a Palestinian might suffer... starvation, homelessness, death.

Ed Sheeran is playing the same hand that MAGA plays. He's picking a side but doesn't accept any of the consequences of enabling that side. We are talking about the very real consequence that a major artist has been silenced by a powerful lobby.

Watching an old news program from the 90s covering "The Young Lyons" or Neo-Traditionalists (Christian McBride, Greg Hutchenson, Antonio Hart, Ryan Kisor, Roy Hargrove) with some asking are they too young, and some saying guys like Tony Williams are getting overlooked cause they're middle aged.

Maybe the funniest thing about the Lake Ontario nonsense is that Ontario basically translates to the very Trumpian "Big Beutiful Lake."

Bros really think they're being clever when they call out horror movie victims for their irrational behavior. So.. you think it's rational that when you hear a noise you just assume it's a monster and run away?

This is beyond stupid as the most blatant example of an abuse of power and government overreach anyone can imagine. They are truly persecuting a guy who did the equivalent of grabbing a paint chip from a wall of peeling paint. You really trust these idiots to not come and take your guns away?

This weekend was the Long Weekend Band Crawl in Waterloo, Ontario. They do these just about every long weekend that doesn't specifically pack the local the bars. In an evening to 25 local bands in 6 venues with 30 minute sets. Cross Dog (Peterburrough) was absolutely furious.

Tonight's movie was. Christine (1983). I can see how this get's ranked below Maximum Overdrive but only because the truck with the big clown face. This movie suffers badly from an inability to write believable teens or parents of teens.

When the you're holding a hammer rule seems to apply when an action star has to fight a group of guys played by stunt men. You're gonna see chairs broken over backs, dudes sliding down bars, going through windows, flipping, falling, and you may even see one catch on fire.

The jazz drummer paradox: Rock fans will tell you a rock drummer is great because he is also a jazz drummer. Rock fan will also brag about how they won't listen to a single note of jazz.

I find it weird that we talk about today's teen and complain that there are no arcades. I'm just like, yah, I remember when Super Nintendo and uptight city councils wiped them out. We played video games and watched movies in our friend's basement. Or we just hung out.

When convenient I go and checkout Canadian bands I used to like in the 90s (or I enjoyed their videos). These can be a lot of fun. Last night, was the Tea Party. I'm pretty sure everybody else enjoyed it. I thought it was lazy and think the band was capable of so much more.

People love and thrive on government programs but they'll vote to have them taken away because they easily convinced there is more to lose if those same programs are expanded. What are they going to lose? Their merit in a meritocracy. Merit they've only earned by being early in line.

I've met a lot of cool people hanging out in bars, but I need to avoid the day drinkers and regulars. But, also there is an emptiness. There's nothing to ongoing connect with beyond other experiences with drinks. It's why this friendships rarely extend outside the bar and the odd party.

Maybe the hardest part about being an adult is realizing that people will do incredibly mean things to you... because they're dumb. They don't consider the energy they're putting out there.

I will keep saying it. Your local artists and local shows need people that simply show up. They need people that simply make it a priority to show up and bring a positive attitude. Those amazing shows will happen, but not always, and the system needs cadence and predicability.

People always make fun of public art. But, that's usually because it's modern art which tends to look a bit goofy while making a grander point. Public art tends to find redemption. In this case people seem to just be making fun of Trump and his ability to deliver on promises.

Pretty much: nothing, at least not when I was around. My dad usually just listened to AM radio. My mom had some Rita McNeil, Mike Mills, and Kenny G. She mistook the Link Protrudi and the J-men CD I ordered for "her Celtic music CD." She thought Kenny G played clarinet.
