I'm sure my own kids and grandkids would prefer that my books made huge amounts of money (and so would I). But there's no way I could write 130 books in just a few years. I like writing Historical Fiction, and that requires way too much research to write quickly.

I know one woman who wrote 130 books in just a few years so that she could make a steady income off Amazon. I couldn't do that. I want to create works of art that my kids and grandkids will be proud of. Not mass consumption crap.

I write because I have all this historical knowledge pent up inside me, just itching to get out, but my day job is as a data geek, which brings no satisfaction at the end of the day. But writing? It feels like I am doing something that resonates with people. It gives purpose. #pretendpanel

I tried to report abuse to GoDaddy about a fraudulent website and they gave me such a runaround that I gave up. Apparently, phony websites that are used to scam people are not high up on their priority list.

I don't know if these scammers are that automated. Based on the textual content, I figured they always hit ChatGPT first and asked for some flowery text about my books and writing, and then added that to the body of their scam email.

Scammer of the day. Notice the email address with an extra "S" between gray and wolf. A quick whois lookup shows that the website was created 6 days ago by Myrsisi Stephanides in Nigeria. I wonder if I should contact Myrsini and pretend I'm Interpol? 😅
