It’s always exciting when a new Keith Rosson book comes out. Nobody does horror with doses of crime and humanity better. Can’t wait to dig into the Crone novel. While Broadway Books in Portland is a great shop and host.

Finished the smol but mighty novella The Death of Mountains by Jordan Kurella a few weeks ago, and am still thinking about the dueling philosophies, depth of unusual characters, how it is many fables within one story. And then it was awarded a Shirley Jackson Award! Don’t miss this one!

Finally finished reading the duology of Fever House and The Devil By Name by Keith Rosson. These are two relentless gruesome unputdownable novels about before and after an apocalypse. They grind at emotions of the characters and readers. Take them for a relentless ride!

Finished reading the amazing novelette And Side By Side They Wander by Molly Tanzer, and loved every word. It’s a joyous read, filled with good things: sprawling science fiction, giant fungi, philosophy, robot romance, a daring heist, weird characters, betrayal, and a deep appreciation of art.
The book mentioned in the caption is held up near an artwork hanging on a wall.

I Love Boosters tells a more imaginative story than an ad or review will try. Funny, strange, shocking; it attacks race, class, and capitalism with very imaginative filmmaking. And if you missed Boots Riley’s previous film Sorry to Bother You, seek it out.
