@taskmasterpepod.bsky.social Flying backwards? In strong winds, light aircraft can be going backwards. I remember landing *almost* backwards - the airspeed was more or less the same as the wind speed and I was hovering over the runway. Worrying as if the wind drops, the plane drops out of the sky.

@jackbern.bsky.social Has anyone looked at fantasy line-ups - anyone from history? Five I've thought of; Stan Laurel, Eric Morecambe, Hattie Jaques, Jimmy Nervo (of the Crazy Gang), Jimmy Tarbuck.

Italy’s Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano, spews plumes of ash
Officials say there’s no immediate danger after volcano generates eruptive cloud and pyroclastic flow A huge plume of ash, gas and rock has spewed forth from Italy’s Mount Etna, Europe’s largest active volcano, but authorities said there was no current danger to the population. Images showed a massive grey cloud billowing from the volcano on the island of Sicily, beginning about 11:24 am local time on Monday, according to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). @richardosman1.bsky.social The story about the married couple reminded me of this; a Greek lady was asked who made the decisions. She said her husband decided the important things: should Greece be in Nato? Or in the EU? She decided unimportant things; how the family was fed and clothed.
