Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 26/09/2026do I hear another excuse to post my dumb garlic meme 😂 020
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 30/08/2026been taking too many Ls lately, but went for a run for a much needed W 030
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 02/08/2026Without downloading new pics what is it like dating you? 0121
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Completed a full playthough of Doom II today (first time in a long while). Was fun to guess who made each map and see if I was right. Unfortunate about the slog of city levels in the middle because there's some solid maps toward the end. A couple favs: 120
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 01/08/2026Heard a lot of praise for The Pit so finally checking it out 030
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 26/07/2026The new Halo is fun, and there are some gorgeous moments in the levels. I have a bunch of thoughts that make me want to replay the original for comparison though (as if I don't have it memorized 😅), but definitely worth a play if you like Halo. 130
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 05/07/2026pretty cool to have such an open level, great vibes, great music 100
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 26/06/2026What a fantastic boss fight, hot damn! Up there with the best boss fights from Dark Souls 3, and an all-timer for boss music. 130
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 23/06/2026I love that Cainhurst is just "what if Beauty and the Beast was a Dark Souls level?" It even does the gag with monsters hiding among the statues. Hope I find a wilted rose... 010
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Cainhurst time. I've never completed this area in my previous plays of Bloodborne 120
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 20/06/2026sad Solaire 😢 Don't worry, we're gonna go kick Lord Gwynn's butt soon 🌞 120
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 19/06/2026"Oolacile Township" is also a very cool level. 130
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 14/06/2026more doodling. I've got Dark Souls on the brain again. 000
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Crazy run. Went in with maybe 2k of gear, got the two green keys, took out a thief trying to ambush me, made it into pinwheel, took out a destroyer who had a ton of gear (I think they fumbled their ult, I was at 0 shields but still won), got into command wing but out of time. Exfil'd from pinwheel. 040
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 05/04/2026I'd read a whole book in the style of Marathon's lore entries 070
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 04/04/2026Part of what makes the mystery here so good is that I can't just go here. I need the two green keys, which means searching, fighting, surviving, while on a timer. And to even have a hope of pulling that off, I need decent gear before I even load into this map. This is like 1-in-10 runs for a glimpse 110
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 29/03/2026Got my first successful solo exfil on Outpost. Went in with the NuCal sponsored kit, finished off the survivor of a duel and looted them both, completed the Sekiguchi intro mission, looted the armory (got a railgun!) and escaped. Solid ending to the weekend. 000
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Also really like the Hauler on Perimeter, even though the fights in there have been wrecking me 010
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Sometime Marathon reminds me of Mirror's Edge, and now I want to replay Mirror's Edge 130
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Thinking about level design. Second one is very much "I have been playing Marathon" 140
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 28/02/2026Really like the freestanding structures, especially when built into slopes like this 020
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 27/02/2026Is it still a sewer level if you're just using the sewer to infiltrate a factory 🤔 050
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 15/02/2026Reached the credits. Good game, but definitely takes some work to appreciate parts of its design. 000
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 23/01/2026pulled this off my shelf for no particular reason 100
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 10/01/2026I think the idea here is that gnomes build in an incoherent way, but I'm trying to imagine the experience for my players, and it seen like a mess. Unless you climb up the cliffs, you don't meet the questgivers until you're near the end, after overcoming several obstacles, and then have to backtack? 100
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Not easy to do meaningful screencaps of Disco Elysium, but both of these moments were big moods. 240
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 01/01/2026Trying to explain Avowed to someone who doesn't play games or care about fantasy: "so, like, there's this island filled with magical wildlife, and all of these factions are trying to settle or colonize it. So it's, like, a meditation on coexistence... but also you hit giant spiders with clubs." 000
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 30/12/2025Avowed has started answering these questions in the second region. Crops have been fueled by soul magic/tech, but now there's a blight on the land causing crops to fail, and maybe these are linked or maybe the cause is deeper? 000
Andrew Yoder @andrew-yoder.bsky.social · 30/12/2025Also just some solid meat-and-potato dungeon design making great use of vertical layering and loops to get multiple uses out of spaces. Like this cistern dungeon for example 010
