France, Germany and now the Netherlands, I feel in the next decade the majority of desktops in Europe will be running Linux, which is good for EU sovereignty and control. About time, too much dependence on the US is now a very poor strategic idea.

Author Ray Bradbury was born on August 22, 1920. This is a bio from Shock SuspenStories #9 (1953) that quotes Bradbury on EC Comics’ adaptations of his stories.
Ray Bradbury was born in Waukegan, III., on Aug. 22, 1920. At the age of 12, he received his first typewriter and started to write sequels to Edgar Rice Burroughs novels. As a boy, his greatest interests were magic, acting, and reading the Oz books, Edgar Allen Poe, and Jules Verne. So it was quite nat-ural, when he began writing, that his first stories were fantasies. He took a short-story course in Los Angeles High School in 1937, graduated in 1938, and had no further education. He started submitting stories to magazines at the age of 15, and sold his first at the age of 21. His earliest appeared in the leading pulp magazines. In 1945, he sold his first "quality" story to the American Mercury, and followed this with sales to most of America's best-known slick magazines. His stories have been reprinted in some 60 anthologies, including the 1946, 1948, and 1952 volumes of The Best American Short Stories. The only other job Bradbury has ever held outside of writing was from 1939 to 1942, when he sold newspapers at night, while writing during the day. He has had three books of stories published: DARK CARNIVAL, THE MARTIAN CHRONICLES, and THE ILLUSTRATED MAN. Ray has just finished writing a science-fiction movie script for a Hollywood studio, and has started another. Having been a fervent collector of comic strips since eight (owning a complete file of Buck Rogers strips from 1928 through 1937, Flash Gordon from 1934 through 1938, Prince Valiant from 1937, and hundreds more) His reaction to the job E.C. is: "My thanks and gratitude for the really fine adaptations and beautiful art work you are doing on my stories. This is an entirely new experience to me, and I cannot tell you enough bow much 1 appreciate the painstaking detail and thought you are putting into your efforts. It seems to me that again and again you achieve the exactly right atmosphere and angle in carrying ont the story. ... You people bave a way of continually making me happy. I can't thank you enough!"

that's right, Bruce Campbell www.mensjournal.com/entertainmen...
When asked how it’s been for him to see the series transform since its indie beginnings way back in 1981 with director Sam Raimi, Campbell revealed his one issue with the recent installments.

“I’d like more humor back in. The three features have been mostly humorless, and I personally have a problem with that,” he said, echoing a sentiment shared among some of the franchise’s fans. “There’s no point for these to get too grim. You can be scary without being grim.”

“A little more humor wouldn’t kill you,” he added. “And one hero that you really can root for. Ash is an idiot, but you want him to survive.”

“Modern filmmakers love to color their movies like a David Fincher movie, like a hospital room, you know?” Campbell continued. “Gray-green, like a garage. Garage lighting. And so, okay, it’s a choice. It’s not mine. I think even a horror movie can look pretty. Why not throw them off? Make it all look pretty and wonderful, and then let them have it.”
