Not necessarily outside my area of expertise, but a big uptick nonetheless. A double-digit number of requests in my inbox after returning from vacation. And all from reputable journals.

It would only be consistent to rename all the lakes in the USA "Lake America."

Why not change the name of every lake in the U.S. to Lake America?

But you have to be prepared not only for someone in the audience interrupting you with a question that is more of a comment. You also have someone in the basement watching your talk in slow motion jumping right back to your critical assumptions when you have already moved to results.

And cleverly built to be almost un-leavable. Any single association that walks away loses tournament access (both national team and clubs) and funding, so nobody defects first.

👇 This is how many academics (especially as referees) read papers. So it’s worth keeping in mind when writing research articles. The key is to earn the reader’s attention after the abstract and intro and make them want to go deeper.

This is basically giving all countries a strong incentive to acquire nuclear weapons. The US is turning its long-standing policy of limiting nuclear proliferation upside down.

Ethical collapse, yes. But it’s not she who was debased. By making this gesture for the good of her country (even if it might not change anything), she elevated herself and made him look astonishingly small and pitiful at the same time.
