The scene in Labyrinth (1986) with the goblins watching and commenting on Sarah’s actions terrified me. I had to leave the room.

The highlight of the night, however, was the Winchester Mystery House. The house itself is stunning, but the haunts and bars and decorations are all so well done. Would absolutely go again.

My favorite read so far this year. Root Rot is about a large family visiting their lake side estate. It focuses on the kids and how the start to discover unsettling things in the woods as they play. I love the folkloric style of the prose and the haunting ending.

11. Without a Dawn (2025) A psychological visual horror novel, with a fascinating art style that uses numbers (instead of pixels) as the basis for the images. I think I also saw this one mentioned in a video essay.
