Interesting. If I'm reading this summary correctly it seems our solar system is a slight outlier. Maybe the interaction between Jupiter and Saturn early on is atypical. Hold on, I'll climb into my spaceship, check some stuff out and get back to you... 😉 www.universetoday.com/articles/hos...

The recent Plex App update for the Apple TV 4k box has destroyed gapless playback on my music library. 🤬 Can’t wait to see if they’ll fix it so enter the Caldera Music app which works in conjunction with my Plex Server. My AIFF formatted music library is back and rocking once more. 🕺

The interior design on this one is off the charts. Maybe not to everyone's taste but it has so much character. This is a boat that, in my fantasy life, I could imagine touring the world in and being comfortable in. Definitely not the aesthetics of a floating hotel. 🥰 www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MrO...

I seem to be in a judgemental mood this morning. 🤣 In a democracy the electorate must take responsibility for the actions of the leaders it elects. US citizens should hang their heads in shame but they do have an opportunity to ameliorate their error at the mid-terms. 🤞

In the UK owners of animals that kill or do serious harm can face severe criminal liability and significant prison time. I believe that both creators and owners of AI should be similarly liable. Ignorance of the law is no defence and ignorance of harm being done should be no defence either.

Crystal clear skies afforded me my first sighting of the season of Orion just now. As with the ancient Egyptians it speaks to my soul. 😍 Due to proper motion such alignments are by chance and transient of course and heck, in 125 million years the sun will be on the other side of the Milky Way. 😱

With AI tools already used to create everything from “art” to propaganda and bioweapons humanity is in danger of becoming like a monkey in charge of an excavator who might use it to find more nuts. As his excavator becomes more and more powerful the potential for destruction is immense.

I wonder how, when on orbit Ship refuelling eventually starts, SpaceX proposes to prevent CO2 and water ice (products of autogenous pressurisation) from transferring from the “tanker” Ships. Yes, filters are the obvious answer but how to prevent filter clogging in zero-g? 🤔

Has your spout stopped swivelling freely. Schoolboy humour aside there’s a grub screw hidden at the base of it which retains it to the main body of the tap. Once removed the spout can be pulled out and the rotating surfaces can be cleaned. I can swivel my spout with one finger now. 🤣🤣🤣

139 years ago Lord Acton wrote “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority.” A wise man.

Families would only move off Earth if their lives there would be better. Those on Earth would only fund such moves if they saw an economic return. The “Musk Effect” might skew this equation temporarily but in the long term I suspect that becoming “multi-planetary” will always be uneconomic. 😢

Slightly mad but Apple have convinced me that it’s worth upgrading my Apple Watch Ultra to the new Ultra 4. The health sensors are more capable which is key for me. Bonuses are a brighter display, a better battery life, compatibility with my third party titanium strap and a generous trade-in. 🥰
