So random question of the baby variety, but y'know how they say no stuffed animals or anything in the bed till after 1 year? Is that a size thing baby wise or brain development thing? My son is bigger than a 1 year old and sick and I want to give him his crinkle giraffe for comfort...

So, my son normally goes to bed and sleeps the night, no issue, very little fuss. Well, he was fast asleep and I smelled something. Little dude was fast asleep but clearly pooped. His diaper was full. So I turn on the light and let me tell you, little dude was PISSED So much so he did piss. On me.

Gave my son a bath tonight, he gave me some grumpy looks, but no crying or whining anymore, just calm curiosity. I think he even likes being clean. Very proud of how far he's come. Newborn Era bath time was a war of overwhelming sensation for the poor guy

So did a full day of new job, the work is fine, but will definitely be exhausting at first. The main problem is my end time is not guaranteed. I was told typically I will be back by 5:30. We finished at 5:48, and I was relieved, but trainer, even knowing my predicament-

Honestly, I don't know if I'm making the right choice in changing jobs. I do know my wife and I are out of money till Friday, no food, but baby has all he needs. I'll make more money, but it'll take a few weeks to catch up. I don't know what I'm afraid of, maybe I miss when current job was good

I think I'll do one book I liked and one I didn't each day. Next book: The Peculiar Possum by Tracy Hecht Illustrated Josie Yee 8/10 Good morals (apologize when you're wrong, people are unique not weird) and it has some good vocabulary. Bonus points for explaining words and animal facts at the end

Gonna rate the books I read to my son starting with this one: The Caterpillar Woman 2/10 The morals are weird basically being kind will ruin your life, but also save you(?) Would work better as a longer story, I think? Understood the intent, did not like the journey. Pretty art though.

Anyone know any good, quiet activities to entertain 6 month old? Other parent just started night shifts and want to let them rest. So far letting him lay on my belly, quiet reading books, and play in his walker chair has worked, but he seems to get tired/bored/fussy fast now 😅
