I clear my map of side quests in XIV in a completionist way. Just to get it done. It's not very exciting but I do it. For reasons I cannot explain, doing every quest in a zone in wow is viscerally satisfying. I cannot explain to you the difference.

XIVs terrible net code is something I'm not missing as I kill all these fucking spiders for their delicious "crab meat". What I'm noticing tho is I'm here for a very different reason than I am when I play XIV. Very rarely is XIV a task list game quite in the same way WoW is.

Arcane missiles at least allows some mana regen to happen while it's channeling. But I don't actually understand the purpose behind barrage at this stage.

On a damage per GCD basis, that creates a massive loss. There's no reason to press it. Because I have to rebuild the blast stacks and they're slower and deal less damage until they're full. Just press blast again?? For that matter arcane missiles is also on thin ice for how little damage it deals.

I know by now that I can't judge an MMO based off of the lower level class design, but I am trying to figure out why arcane barrage.... Exists. Even amped with 20 charges, all 4 stacks of blast, it just deals the same average damage of pressing arcane blast again?

People play this game? On purpose? I cannot stress enough that the leveling experience's best foot forward as been mob grinding. And we're not classic anymore. That's not how you're supposed to level. But Push Button -> Deal Damage is working very well!

On the subject that this game is buggy as fuck: I am using default UI. I have no add-ons or plugins or any of that. I am playing the game as Blizzard presents it The UI is kind of a mess, it sometimes just doesn't work? I keep thinking I'm on a private server. This is making me miss FFXIV menus.

Also, if I can be so fucking honest, the fun parts of classic were the lonely ones. The in the middle of fucking nowhere quests where I was just grinding mobs while listening to audio books. Because everyone I interacted with on that game just seemed to piss me off somehow.

I haven't had a good time trying to play WoW since I cleared Molten Core back at classic release. I logged in, leveled my warlock to 60, got my Warlock mount, and then got a Ragnaros kill and logged out forever. Because I did the ONE thing I missed doing when the game was new.
