Methodical's Pink Lady will always be my daily driver, but I picked up their summer blend on a whim with my latest order and I gotta say, that's one fine-tasting coffee.

I've never seen any of these and have no frame of reference for what the question is. :(

Appreciating this footnote from @christophheilig.bsky.social tonight. It parallels some recent ideas I've been trying to conceptualize on the way I think about doing exegesis and how to communicate certainty of particular interpretations.
(a photo of a footnote from _The Apostle and the Empire_) 11 It would be an example of (a) circular reasoning to say that passages like 1 Cor 2:6 or 2 Cor 2:14 should not be understood as creating dissonances with respect to Roman ideology because we know from Rom 13:1-7 that Paul is uncritical of the Roman Empire-while at the same time maintaining this interpretation of Rom 13:1-7 with reference to the lack of anti-imperial passages in Paul. What must by no means be confused with circular reasoning is (b) a hermeneutical spiral, which in the end is unavoidable because our arguments never start from scratch. It is, thus, entirely acceptable to begin explorations on the topic of Paul and Empire with the assumption of a low background plausibility for anti-imperial reso-nances in passages like 1 Cor 2:6 or 2 Cor 2:14 on the basis of a traditional understanding of Rom 13:1-7. It would then, however, be important to be aware of the fact that this inter-pretation of Rom 13:1-7 is itself only an initial conclusion. If we are then confronted with a series of passages for which the explanatory potential of an empire-critical subtext is just so good that it trumps the initial skepticism based on the initial interpretation of Rom 13:1-7, this will gradually change the contours of our background knowledge-to an extent that in the end it might become necessary to see whether the outcome of the inference to the most probable interpretation of Rom 13:1-7 might be affected by that shift. On circular reasoning, see Christoph Heilig, Hidden Criticism? The Methodology and Plausibility of the Search for a

This has to be one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. It’s ridiculously floral and so balanced. Totally satisfying. Hopefully it comes back next year! #coffeesky

Went for a coffee date with Jimmy after church, and my barista friends gave me ~20 spider plant cuttings. Lush green friends to keep me company in the cold winter!

I love marginalia b/c you can see what other people were excited about when they were reading the same book. Sometimes pretty funny.

first time making chokecherry jam. The bushes in the backyard are going crazy this year so I didn't feel like I was competing with the birds too much. needs some work on the stone-separation process but otherwise a great success!

There used to be a stretch along my walking route to the grocery store where there would often be evening mumurations, and one time there were so many I just decided, "nope, not today" and went home. (Part of it was just the threat of getting pooped on tho.)

@atlassian.bsky.social why do I have to click a button to see my sprint details with this UI update? there's plenty of whitespace here to tell me how many days are left!
a partial screenshot of the top of a jira board with various icons and buttons. There's an icon selected that brings up a small panel saying "DATA Sprint 49. 8 Days left." and the sprint dates. To the left is a large amount of empty area.

I got to run my first 5k with an adoptable beagle on Saturday. T'was so much fun! He's so sweet and needs a good home - I'd give him one but Jimmy is not a dog person and adopting a pet is one of those two-yes decisions so... Anyway he was the best! www.adoptapet.com/pet/37717861...

One of my new year's resolutions is to write at least 100 words per day on any subject to build a habit of consistent creativity. January wasn't perfect but I only missed three days and I'm inordinately pleased with how much I've enjoyed my project so far.
A calendar view of January with only the 11th, 18th, and 21st not highlighted.

Haven't been to the beach in years and forgot how relaxing it is. Jimmy and I are drinking Cuban coffee and eating gelato and getting slightly sunburned. Good times.
Jimmy (a white dude with a fauxhawk and tanktop) sitting at a table eating chocolate and mango gelato. Behind him is the gelato bar and rest of the shop. Sand and waves under a cloudy sky Me (a smiling white girl with brown hair) in a hotel lobby with a tequila sunrise (yellow and orange). I look tired and windblown but happy. Me drinking coffee with Miami Beach in the background and really beautiful cloudy sky.

tried to capture some of the stark beauty of the autumnal prairie's golden hour.
October 13th, Ward Co. ND - Sunset

Stubbled fields are cast in buff and gold
by distant sun dogged in luminescence
Pheasants glean tawny purls of hay
    neat stacked in windbreak lee
Pulled-batting skies reflect taut pools like empty eyes
reed-lashed in ochre, bronze, and shadowed greens
Cottonwood leaves hang like leathered flames
a vigil til next wind whispers their descent
Evening's silent chill
each breath fills with smoke and death

Today I got up super early and drove 40mi to town for a tree sale. 1. I'm turning into a midwesterner and planting windbreaks. 2. I'm turning into my mom. This is something my mom would do. (I sent her a picture of the sale list and she was super excited.)
Two whiteboards against the inner wall of a metal barn. They list the different kinds of trees for sale. There are five categories: Evergreens, Fruit, Deciduous, Shrubs, and Vine. Additional areas of the whiteboard read: "Welcome to our Tree Sale." "All trees are $2 a piece." "Water your trees for better survivability through the summer." There is also a dry-erase-marker drawing of a red pickup truck pulling a trailer with a tractor on it.A white garbage bay lying on the ground with the opening spread to reveal two small bundles of tree seedlings wrapped in butcher's paper. One bundle is greyish brown sticks, and the other is fuzzy evergreen tips.A tiny planted crabapple seedling. It's dormant, so it's just a greyish-brown stick (no leaves or buds). It's lightly mulched with leaves from last fall.

Giant flocks of starlings always feel surreal to me (birds aren't real). There's a shuddery sound and rhythm to the air they inhabit - a biomechanical frisson. Photograph doesn't fully capture.

Beautiful cool, clear day for a Sunday afternoon walk by & over the Trinity river. #FortWorth #smalljoys
A late afternoon picture of a dark river with the Fort Worth downtown skyline in the background. The banks of the river are grassy with lots of oak trees along a small walking trail - some live oaks and some with autumn-colored hues of red and yellow. The river brilliantly reflects the trees and sky.

Brought to you by re-reading Athenaze for practice.
A venn diagram with two overlapping circles. The left circle is titled "Things I thought I would read in Ancient Greek, and the right is "Things I actually read in Ancient Greek." In the left exclusive circle are the following entries: Poetry; Philosophy; Lots of myths; the Illiad/Odyssey. In the overlapping section: Weird adapted texts, A lot of Koine (the GNT/LXX). In the right exclusive section: Military equipment vocab; a battle; the importance of valor among the youth; Camels and ostriches (also in battle); Another battle; A sea battle!; A speech about why we should go to battle. Outside of both circles: Where is the bathroom?

Some blue(ish) skies for Bluesky. Captured these crazy clouds on a grocery store run. (near Minot, ND) I never knew the prairie could be so beautiful.
lowering grey blue clouds below a light blue background, and a thick windbreak over a grey-brown prairiea stand of trees, mostly with their leaves lost to autumn winds. a lone tree over a small farm outbuilding, against a backdrop of churning clouds after a storm, tossed with light and shadowfoamy pale clouds with front lighting from a setting sun. the golden hour caressing a windbreak, fence, and pond on the prairie. Two long rows of stacked round hay bales in the distance.A road protected by a leafless fall windbreak leads to the top of a small rise. Black cows dot the crest of the ridge and white silos can be seen half-hidden on the horizon. Long rolling clouds with dark underbellies streak the sky, presaging a storm.
